Description of 1971 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic

Vehicle Details

1971 Volkswagen Beetle - Super Bug. This is a very rusty vehicle- due to substantial frame rust. I do not feel this should be considered a restoration project. If you deem otherwise please know it's not my intention. Please don't ask how rusty it is- it's VERY rusty! I am selling with a bill of sale only- I have no additional paper work available. The good- it runs very well- does have a 1500cc engine which was discontinued in 1970 ( so the engine is original for a 1968 to 1970 model year). The air cleaner is not original- looks like a 40 HP piece. The interior is in better condition than one would expect- the passenger side seat has a tear, the drivers side door panel is buckled- and other typical wear and age issues- but if you want interior parts for restoration this absolutely is a great donor. Please don't be fooled by the exterior photos- they don't show the bottom rust areas- again- really rusty underneath. I did tow the Bug over a 100 miles on a tow dolly without any issues. It will move under it's own power if a battery is installed and wires are jumped- the brake lines are GONE so it has no brakes. I was able to yard test drive it with the emergency brake to stop. It is not going to drive ANYWHERE- needs to be towed to the final resting / salvage destination. There are so many good parts for restoring another Bug! Clearly I haven't a clue what the actual mileage is on this so selling TMU. Ebay does not allow me the option to list as no title- so please ignore the above title status and understand you are buying this without a title. The current color is not original. The heater boxes look nearly new and I believe are OEM. The 1500cc engine has enough value of its own the justify the opening bid. Best wishes to all!
