Description of 1992 Acura NSX

Modification Summary
There are less than 5k miles on the build. Many interior/exterior and mechanical aspects have been thoughtfully refreshed. The goal was to have a dependable driver with no performance compromises. The car is scary fast under boost, but maintains OEM drivability. The pictures attempt to capture the subtle details which are hidden from the otherwise OEM-looking exterior.
This is a professionally-tuned super car with enough power and agility to embarrass many modern platforms. The build began with an original and rare Grand Prix White ‘92 NSX that was transformed to a 02+ NSX-R turbo tribute. The car has the top-shelf Lovefab LF1200 turbo kit, conservatively tuned to 562 RWHP on E85, and 500 RWHP on 91 Octane. Boost is modulated % by gear to extend longevity of the drivetrain.
I am selling due to some personal reasons and because I accomplished my goals for the car. Notably, the car is autographed by project leader of the NSX, Shigeru Uehara.

Maintenance
While the car has ~126k miles on the chassis, everything serviceable was replaced with the motor build (some 5k miles ago, ~3.5 years prior). Seriously. Water pump, timing belt, all the little hoses, plus the high end silicon hoses for the main six, LMA’s tension adjust for the timing belt, knock sensors, oil pressure remote from SOS, etc. I had the TB/WP recently inspected and they are believed to be in good shape. The car just received a fresh synthetic oil change and has a brand new battery. As noted above, the exterior shows in like new condition.
Bonus items

-C-Tek battery tender.
-“titanium” key
Things that currently bother me:
-Fitment of the DF Type-R hood. This is a known issue, but with some creativity, the “float” above the passenger headlight may be minimized. The hood also has a nick near the corner-most edge of the driver’s side. There is also a very small nick near where the hood meets the front bumper.
-The front lip could be replaced, but it didn’t bother me that much.
-The reflectors have been painted GPW all around, and are still functional. The paint match is slightly off, but I’m being picky.
-The interior looks fantastic, but a true NSX enthusiast could have some fun perfecting it further with parts fromthensxshop.com, etc.
Final Words

Drama, uniqueness and sense of occasion.
I just came back from a spirited drive, and those are the words that immediately came to my mind. I’ve been fortunate to have seat time in a number of exotics/high-end platforms from the 90s until the modern day. With great pride, I can tell you that this build is something special. From the feedback and weight of the manual steering, to the engagement of the transmission, and the thrust under boost, it’s truly rewarding.
Exhaust
The custom fabricated exhaust is epic. My old NSX had a Taitec GTLW and a CTSC– that car sounded downright wimpy by comparison. I know the word “exotic” is thrown around way too much these days – but if you want to hear what the NSX sounds like dialed to 11, then please by my guest. At low RPMS it gurgles with the NSX soundtrack ethos, until you get into boost and then it sounds like banshees on your way to hell.
Electrical
What this ad probably doesn’t translate well enough is just how much thought and effort went into the electrical composition, wiring and setup of the car. I had every aspect of this redone under my supervision (my background is EE, so this matters to me). The car idles perfectly– whether you are romping on it, or taking it easy.
Condition
The car is in a true “get in and drive” condition. This a combination of finding the right standalone (AEM Infinity with the newest software); excellent wiring; and the most knowledgeable EMS tuner – Beau. If you’re serious about driving and are enthusiastic about this platform, please get in touch. I am happy to have the car inspected, PPI’s performed, etc. at the buyer’s expense.
I am a 14-year member of NSX prime, and a sincere NSX enthusiast. I’ve sold many cars in the past and can put you in touch with previous purchasers. I try to be as detailed and up-front as possible. This is my second first-gen NSX, but I suppose the time has come for a new steward of this machine. I’m in no rush, and will only sell it to someone that can appreciate the time/effort and rarity of this build. Thanks for your consideration.
