Description of 1961 Alfa Romeo Other |
NO RESERVE NO RESERVE NO RESERVE 1961 Alfa Romeo Sprint Normale(Mfg 12/59, Sold 1/60 in Calif.) This is a great rust free California car, in good condition inside and out, the body is straight and solid. The interior still retains its rare front bucket seats (photo documentation inAlfa technical book) and the uncommon back seat. The seats and door panels were recovered some time ago but the carpet was recently installed. The floors and trunk have no rust in them, (I also have the original bumpers and correct trunk lid). The motor, which I was told was rebuilt, starts right up and runs strong without grinding in any gears, it has also been converted to a 5spd. It has driven and idled in Los Angeles traffic and has not overheated. It is not numbers matching, the motor number is a 1962 1300. The Italian registry indicates it is still the correct red, it was painted a couple of years ago and was matched to original painted areas of the car. This car has been a reliable weekend car for the last couple of years and I hope the next owner enjoys it as much as I have. Sadly, I am selling my Alfas as I had major foot surgery and I was already a little cramped because I’m tall but I can no longer get my foot at the right angle to clutch in the Alfas. My other early cars have more leg room so I don’t have the same problem, I love Alfas and can’t believe our relationship is coming to an end. Due to work commitments I had a friend list the car before (2015) and it reached $36,000 but I did not sell it. I am listing with no reserve this time, but it may sell locally before the auction ends. Please, questions or inspections will only be handled before the close of auction, upon ending, the auction is a final sale of the car. A non-refundable deposit of $2,000 will be due through Paypal within 24 hours and the balance owed is due within 4 days of the end of the auction.
