Description of 1991 Alfa Romeo Spider |
1991 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce VIN: ZARBB32N2M6005402-88. xx original miles-triple black -5 speed manual -meticulously maintained -excellent honest condition-accident-free with a clean & clear history-all original booklets and manuals-complete service history with records and receipts-clean & clear title in handMechanics:Starts. runs. and drives excellent with a steady idle and lots of power throughout the entire RPM range. The aluminum 2liter motor pulls hard with full compression in all 4 cylinders. Clutch is newer and feels great. as does the transmission which shifts smoothly and precisely up & down throughout all 5 gears and into reverse. No 2nd gear crunch at all. unless you downshift into 2nd while the RPM is still high (which is absolutely inevitable with any Alfa Romeo). Brakes are good with a firm pedal bringing the car to a stop with confidence. Suspension is nice and tight yet still comfortable and soft over bumps and uneven roads. Handles incredible and is an absolute joy to drive. It is a very reliable little sports car that I would not hesitate to take anywhere. All maintenance is up to date and the car needs nothing mechanically — just get in and enjoy. Cosmetics:This timeless Pininfarina-designed Italian roadster looks absolutely incredible in & out. The rich black paint is extremely deep and glossy. with very few imperfections to be expected of a car from this vintage. It was professionally repainted in its original color sometime in the early 2000s. It has held up very well and appears to have been garaged for most. if not all. of its life. All chrome trim is smooth and shiny with no pitting or oxidation whatsoever. There is absolutely no rust anywhere. The convertible soft top looks like new with no fading. rips. or tears whatsoever. The plastic rear window is clean and clear as well with no blemishes. It goes up & down with ease and locks tightly. sealing the interior from the elements while also keeping road noise to a minimum. The interior is very clean and tidy. The seats are excellent. having been completely reupholstered a few years ago in black leather. The carpets. floor mats. center consoles. and door panels are all good as well. The dashboard is great and surprisingly crack-free. which is extremely rare on these cars. The trunk is tidy as well with clean carpeting. The door jambs. rocker panels. wheel wells. undercarriage. and engine bay all look great cosmetically and more importantly are extremely solid and completely rust-free. All four “phone-dial" wheels are straight and true with out any oxidation or pitting of the original bare metal finish. Electrics:As previously stated. this car is extremely reliable and I would not hesitate to jump in and go anywhere my heart desired. The ignition system operates as it should with no problems. All lights. inside & out. work as they should. There are no warning lights or check-engine lights on the dashboard cluster because the car has no faults — but when tested they all work fine. Power windows are notoriously slow. but they do open & close. Both left & right power mirrors also work as they should. Radio and speakers work great and the power antenna goes up & down with no reception issues. The Bad:There are a few superficial blemishes on the exterior worth noting:(1) There is a chip in the paint on the cowl between the hood and the passenger side windshield wiper. (2) There are two small paint chips with small dings in the hood. (3) There is an odd-shaped roughly 3” dent on the nose of the car right on the outside edge of the driver’s side headlight bucket. right above the front bumper. *I have taken detailed photos of all 3 listed imperfections for potential buyers to view. Fortunately. it is nothing that PDR (paintless dent removal) and some touch-up paint can’t fix. -Feel free to message me with any questions or concerns. I will do my best to reply ASAP. -Bid with confidence as this is one of the nicest examples currently for sale. -I have described the car as thoroughly and honestly as possible. -Please understand that this is a classic car. and not brand new. so it will not be perfect by any means — however. it is in excellent condition and has tons of charm and character. -Many classic car analysts and appraisers predict that these beautiful Pininfarina-designed Italian roadsters are going to appreciate in value dramatically within upcoming years. Also being a Series 4 (’91-’94) Alfa Romeo Spider. it is the last version of this model and thus one of the most desirable. So not only will you enjoy this quick and nimble Italian sports car. you will also be investing in a classic that is sure to appreciate in value. I encourage any potential buyers to come view the car in personOn Nov-30-14 at 23:36:01 PST. seller added the following information:There are a few minor issues that I forgot to mention that I would like any interested parties to be aware of:(1) The inside of the convertible soft top is fading a bit. It is very unnoticeable and does not cause any problems. It is only visible when looking up from inside of the car when the top is closed. (2) The passenger-side window is not operating properly. Fortunately everything involved in powering the window to open & close is working. including the motor itself. however the cable is broken. It is an extremely inexpensive part that can be found almost anywhere online. and can easily be swapped in by anyone with some basic mechanical knowledge. (3) The tires are decent but are definitely beginning to dry out and should be replaced sometime in the future. (4) As with most Alfa's of the era. the A/C did not work well. The culprit was the clutch on the compressor. and thus the compressor itself was removed from the car. The clutch can be replaced and the compressor can be put back in fairly easily. however it was never an issue for me as the car is a convertible and the top was down essentially every time it was driven. *These are the only known issues with this vehicle. -I also forgot to mention that the motor does not burn excess oil. which is a very common issue with these cars. |
