This early production (one of the first 10 produced) 1969 AMC SC/Rambler-Hurst was sold to the original owner in Rockford, llinois in July of 1970 after the car served as a test and press/promotional car for AMC. The build sequence number, 059107, hows a February 2 through February 7th, 969 production on the east assembly line at the Kenosha, isconsin plant. AMC didn't officially show the SC/Rambler-Hurst car to the public until the Chicago Auto Show in March of 1969. The first 10 SC/Rambler-Hurst examples were sent to noted AMC engine tuner/builder and racer H. L. Shahan in Los Angeles, alifornia in early 1969 for preparation as press cars.These 10 cars were used for test drives and road tests by the leading automotive publications. Car and Driver magazine's road test followed in the May issue of 1969, ith Road and Track magazine publishing their test report in the June 1969 issue.
This SC/Rambler-Hurst starts, uns, nd drives exceptionally well and has been fastidiously maintained by Fox Motorsports for nearly 10 years. The exterior is in excellent condition with superb factory "A" configuration (scheme) paint. The engine features the "Group 19" aluminum Edelbrock R-4B intake manifold including the correct stamped AMC part number. The ignition has been upgraded to a modern electronic setup and the engine is currently fitted with exhaust manifolds. The interior retains the original seats, triped headrests, oor panels, ash, auges, un tachometer, eadliner, lass, nd seat belts. The carpet has been updated and two auxiliary gauges for water and oil temperature have been mounted under the dash.
In addition to annual fluid servicing, ox Motorsports recently replaced the heater core with a NOS 1969 core, ebuilt the Holley carburetor (re-plated and refinished as-new), nd replaced the fuel lines and fuel pump. Included with the car are the original owner ID card, riginal owner's manual, eriod correct warranty manual, eriod correct plastic AMC Motors document sleeve, nd service records.
