Description of 1969 AMC Other DPL |
1969 AMC Ambassador Diplomat Wagon - NO RESERVE AUCTION Thank you for taking the time to view this 1969 AMC Ambassador Diplomat Wagon. The Ambassador line was AMC’s top tier, and boasted some of the best options the brand offered at the time. The 1969 Ambassador was redesigned with tougher styling cues fitting of the era. The platform was made longer and wider for a more spacious interior and better ride. The front grille redesign, with horizontal quad headlights and the larger blacked out grille, added to the “muscle car” appearance. While this Ambassador has the upgraded Diplomat package, it has the tailgate trim panel from the top end SST, designed to match the tail lights. The odometer currently reads 18170 miles. The outside appears to be factory Regatta Blue, with factory Medium Blue interior. This wagon features seating for 7 (2 up front, 3 in the back, 2 in rear facing fold up seat.) It has the “three way” rear door which can open sideways or down, and a power rear window. Thanks to its place at the top of the AMC line, you also get a 343ci V8 paired with a 4 barrel carburetor. That is mated to a Borg Warner automatic transmission sending power to a limited slip differential with cruise friendly 3.15 gears. The Ambassador also has Power Steering, Power Brakes, Cruise Control and factory AC. The AC is present, but untested. Please note this vehicle spent some time up north and as such has rust on the undercarriage. |
