Description of 1974 AMC Hornet

This 1974 AMC Hornet Sportabout was used regularly for over two years while many parts and services were done. below is a list of all parts replaced or services done while the vehicle has been in our possession:

Battery, cables, and terminals
Front wheels: drums, shoes, wheel cylinders, bearings, and hard & soft lines replaced
Rear wheels: drums and shoes cleaned & adjusted
Parts replaced: Brake master cylinder, shocks, thermostat, valve cover gasket, plugs, wires, cap & rotor, air, fuel & breather filters, rebuilt carburetor, motor mounts, one hatch shock, radiator & oil caps, upper & lower coolant/rad hoses, battery, cables, terminals & hold down, and a rear view mirror.
Various parts repainted such as: wheels, shock caps, backing plates, etc.

This wagon runs great on 87 pump gas, it does require seasonal carb adjustments (don't mistake it for a fuel issue). This car was used regularly to drive around Kent County, Delaware for over two years. Mechanically, this is a great original motor drive train! The body, as you can see in the pictures, does need bodywork. The weatherstripping all around (doors, windows, hatch, windshield) should be replaced before doing the bodywork. The front seat needs repair and upholstery, I use a folded up blanket to help level it out. The AC compressor is good; however the clutch needs to be replaced. All original AC lines are in place. The tires are aged and due for a replacement, but they hold air and have done well traveling up to 60-70mph for 30+ minutes. The clock only tells time 2 minutes a day ;-). One key fits the ignition, doors, and hatch.
The car's Delaware registration and inspection are valid to January 2020, over a year away!It's insured through Grundy Insurance for an agreed upon value ABOVE the 'Buy It Now' price.
