Description of 1968 AMC AMX

1968 AMX. VIN A8C397X239844, Car ID plate # 630Red, white stripes, red interior. Restored in 2017 by previous owner.Engine is a 401 from a 1971 Car all rebuilt .060 over now 413 CIDEdelbrock Performer Intake, Demon 750 CFM carb. New Exhaust Manifolds,it had headers and exhaust cut-outs. I removed those because of ground clearance.Electric cooling fans wired through the ignition, into a second fuse box under the dash.Aftermarket gauges mounted in the original dash so it has turn signal indicators on the dash faceand hi-beam indicator under the ignition switch. (Factory indicators were in the original gauges).Aftermarket wood steering wheel (with black slip on cover), so the horn button is also under theignition switch. High torque mini starter. The mileage on the new speedometer at the time was zero as everything was rebuilt. The mileagenow showing is 5300. I bought the car in May 2021 with a little over 4000 miles. The center of the dash and center console were redone in carbon fiber. The car was converted to power windows (switches on console) and there are switches for theexhaust cut-outs which I removed.CD player with 2 speakers in the dash and two on the back bulkhead.Automatic transmission (shifts perfectly) and 3.15 Twin grip rear end, nice cruising gear.Power steering and disc brakes. New fuel tank, pickup and filter. New battery.Tires are BF Goodrich Silvertown red line radials on original 14" Cragar SS wheels. 205/70R 14 front215/70R 14 rear. Good tread.I get 12-14 mpg driving in the mountains of Northwest North Carolina.Stack of paperwork and receipts going back to 2012.The paint has a few minor touchups and the seats show very light wear. This is a nice driving car, I don't drive very much, only 1000 miles in three driving seasons.Ask intelligent questions if you are seriousI encourage having an inspection if you can't look at it yourself. I've sold a couple of cars that the buyer paid to have it inspected, nothing to hide.
