This AustinHealey has been thoroughly sorted with about 1180 miles drivensince rebuild. The previous owner owned the car since 1989 and said the mileage was correct but I have no documentation to support the mileage other than the very solidcondition of the chassis and the original seat covers. The floor pans and trunk are rust free and appear to be original which is the number one reason I purchased the car. The frame is excellent including the 4outriggers that attach to the inside of the rocker panels. As detailed in the photos; the underside of the car is painted body color and rust free. The doors shut well and the bonnet fits great. The trunk lid latches with good gaps on the side but has a little" stick out"relative to the lower rear valance. The paint appears to be an original Austin Healey color often referred to as British racing green showing very well with good luster. There are a few very small chips & nicks from driving but otherwise is in great condition. A new original style (cloth bound) wire harness was installed so the electrical system works well with all instruments functioning properly but the tachometer reads a littlefast due to installation of anelectronic ignition whichis fit beneath the distributor cap and can't otherwise be detected. The engine was totally overhauled with new pistons, earings, iming chains, tc. The transmission was inspected and worn parts were replacedso itshifts well with smooth operation. The cooling system was replaced with new hoses & awater pump as well as the heater controls. I replaced the radiator with a high efficiency aluminum radiator but the original radiator is included with the sale. The oil pressure reads high even after warm up. The correct exhaust system is new and the original exhaust manifold was ceramic coated inside & out at a cost of$362. The "inner coating" significantly reduces the manifold temperature which I found beneficial because it is beneath the carburetors. Vapor lock on Healey 3000 carbs has been a problem I experienced years before restoring this car. The carpet set is new as is the dash topcover. The wood dash is original and in show quality condition. The soft top is new Stafast canvas with an original boot cover. The chrome wire wheels are in excellent condition with properly sized Vredestein radial tires. Much of the chrome is show quality with only the glassframes showing signs of age. The brakes have been rebuilt with new pistons as wellasall other parts that were required. The front suspension was rebuilt and the car handles excellent. Overall, his Healey has an excellent sub structure, reat cosmetics,and all systems overhauled providing reliable driving. I am selling because I need the fundsbut would otherwise not consider letting it go. These cars are hard to find in rust free condition with original parts and well sorted. An inspection would be available with 24 hour notice and I have a hoist for a complete review top to bottom.
