Description of 1955 Austin Healey Other 100/4 |
The Austin Healey 100/4 BN1 was the first iteration of the “Big Healeys” and was named for its 100mph capacity and 4-cylinder engine. These cars produced 90hp. and easily surpassed the 100mph mark. in period. The 100-series went above and beyond consumer and critic expectations. and was lauded by multiple magazines for it’s tight handling and nimble maneuvering. In recent years 100/4s have been recognized as THE healey to own. A perfect classic car and perhaps the purest sporting car to ever come out of the Longbridge factory. In 1978. the engine was removed and completely rebuilt. and the head was properly re-torqued after 500 miles to ensure that everything was in working order. |
