Description of 1962 Austin Healey 3000 Roadster |
This 1962 Austin-Healey 3000 BT7 is a Mark II 4-seat roadster that was built in February 1962 and sent to Chicago, Illinois for sale in the US the following month. It was acquired by the current owner last year and reportedly underwent previous refurbishment by marque specialists Fourintune of Cedarburg, Wisconsin. Work included a color change, new upholstery, and a refreshing the Smiths gauges. Power comes from a triple-carb 2.9L inline-six mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox, and maintenance performed in the last year is said to include a new battery, fuel pump, wheel cylinders, choke cable assembly, and more. This BT7 is now being offered by the current owner's nephew with service records, an original owner's manual, weather gear, a tool kit, a BMIHT certificate, and a clear New Jersey title. Originally finished in Colorado Red with a black top, this example was repainted in its current shade of white some time ago. The seller notes a small bubble on the passenger door as well as a crack around the hood grille. The black soft top and side curtains are pictured up close in the gallery, and the seller discloses some scratches on the plexiglass as well as clouding of the rear plastic window. Factory wire wheels show some finish flaws, and the tires will need replacing per the seller. The 2+2 cabin was reupholstered in red with white piping. Light wear and some fading is described on the seats and matching carpets, and the correct 3-spoke steering wheel is retained. Smiths gauges were reportedly rebuilt, and just over 18k miles are shown on the 5-digit odometer. Less than 400 miles have been added by the current owner. The 2.9L inline-six is equipped with three SU carburetors and is mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. A new battery was installed in July, and further maintenance performed by the seller has included a new fuel pump, wheel cylinders, hoses, a choke cable assembly, and a clutch service. Records are said to include a number of receipts from local specialists over the years. Link of listing last yearhttps://bringatrailer.com/listing/1962-austin-healey-3000-bt7-4-seat-roadster-8/ |
