In my 65 years of selling Rolls Royce and Bentleys, both new and pre owned, and other great motorcars from this same location with much pride and enthusiasm I have the pleasure of offering this most unusual motorcar.

For many years, the Austin FX4 black taxi was one of the first things visitors to London saw when they stepped out of the airport. A ride in one of these taxis was an essential part of anyone’s visit to London. This taxi was so popular in London that it remained in production for nearly 40 years. The previous owner of this motorcar had fond memories of riding in the Austin FX4 taxi’s with his mother and father as they travelled to the family home in London every Christmas holiday.

The owner wanted to bring a piece of London back to New York. And what better symbol of London than the Austin FX4 taxi? While keeping all of the standard equipment of the Austin FX4, the owner upgraded the motorcar to provide a more luxurious ride including: an automatic transmission, tinted rear windows, a custom “Rolls Royce” leather interior with jump seats, front and rear air-conditioning, power windows in the back, a wood rim steering wheel, burl walnut wood trim, reading lamps and seat belts to mention a few. Plus the diesel engine provides excellent gas mileage.
