Racing Green Engineering Bentley B Special No.1 -The B Special No.1 is our homage to the racing pedigree of the Bentley Speed 6 immortalised in motoring history by Woolf Barnato, Henry Birkin and the Bentley Boys. -The First car known currenlty as the "Old Number One" debuted as a factory race car in May 1929 for the first ever Brooklands Double Twelve, but the bodywork was changed by the factory in October of that year to a fishtail design and continued racing in this format until its disastrous crash in 1932 claiming the life of driver Clive Dufee. -Our Bentley recreation is built on the strong foundation of the Bentley MK6 chassis utilzing the B series 8 cylinder engine, coachwork is a boattail aluminum body on a ash/tubular steel framework. The interior is finished in leather with an aluminum dashboard populated with recreated period instruments. Chassis: Donor Car: 1948 Bentley MK6 VIN# B58CF. Currently registered and titled in Louisville, KY. USA. -Recognized by the Bentley Drivers club and has been recorded in the Bentley owners record as a rebodied MK6 Bentley by coach workers Racing Green Engineering in Wales. Restoration: Racing Green Engineering model Bentley Special Old #1, Finished in Rolls Royce BLUE w/ semi gloss off white stripes. Completed in March 2016. Now has 2184 Miles. -Motor: Bentley B80 Eight-cylinder-InLine. -4 s.u. Type H.6 carbs. All mechanicals rebuilt or refurbished. -MK6 4 speed transmisson with Lightened fly wheel. -21 Inch wire wheels (BLUE) Rudge-Whitworth mounted on Blockley tires. Knock on stainless spinners. -Electric fuel pumps and Dry Sump. Also has backup Mechanical fuel pumps. -Flush Hella style horns. -High Ratio Rear axle. -Comfort adjustable Leather seats. Full Tonneau cover. -Tail Lamps are a Rubbolite copy. All bright work is finished in nickel-plated finish. -Semi Black mesh Grill w/Painted Number. Shroud is Solid Nickel. Hidden electric fan with hidden switch for extreme traffic and or heat. -Braking system: Hydraulic front drum brakes, mechanical rear drum brakes, assisted by mechnically driven servo. -Suspension: Upgraded MK6 front and rear road springs. Manual floor pump self lubricating suspension. -Trouble free wiring harness with modern relays and fuses. Has hidden power outlet and Hazard switch. Turn signals, brakes light, high-low beams and fog lamps. Hidden alternator instead of a generator. - Car weighs about 4500lbs. It is approximately 17ft end to end. -This car has been featured on Power Nation TV, has been featured on the cover of Reincarnation magazine. It was also invited and on display at the McCall Montery Jet show in California 2016 and an exclusive private party in Carmel, Ca. 2017. Also to mention it has been DRIVEN 6+ hours to Nashville and back for a show and driven to plenty of events and shows in the Louisville and Lexington areas. It is very reliable, comfortable at highway speeds and adjusting to traffic.
This Bentley is ready for immediate use, whether its for a road rally, long country drive or trip, show, parties, weddings, etc. This car is very reliable and has readily available parts if a problem should arrise.
