Description of 1957 Bentley Other

Classic 1957 Bentley S1. right hand drive. power steering. Comes with spare fan belt. nbsp;tire. jack. and lug wrench. Also comes with 2 sets of both master and valet keys. The car shows 125. 00 miles on the odometer. The engine was rebuilt at one time and runs very strong. Oil pressure good. no smoke from tailpipe. and no unusual noises in engine. Exhaust. cooling and charging systems are in good condition. The oil & filter were changed about 4 years ago and the car has been driven very little since then because the transmission started slipping in third and fourth gear when warmed up. The spark plugs. plug wires. points. distributor cap. and rotor are new. The brakes were completely rebuilt around 8 years ago. including one brand new master cylinder ($800!). However. the car has been sitting mostly during the last three years and the hydraulic brakes need to be bled. The mechanical brakes. however. work just fine. but they take some time to stop the car above 30 mph. The starter drive was also rebuilt. This power steering works great. but there is a small leak somewhere in the system. The engine and transmission seals have dried up and leak a little because it has been sitting so long. However. they may reseat themselves after the slipping transmission is fixed and some miles put on the car. I was told that the slippage in the transmission can be readily fixed. but I don't know how to do it. The interior. The seats need cleaning and there are no tears in the leather. The headliner is stained in places and I was told that it can be redyed a darker color. but again I don't know how to do it. The wood needs refinishing. The front carpet is worn out. but a new section of Wilton wool carpet is included with the car. All the windows are in great shape. no fogging or cracks. When the car was repainted by the previous owner maybe 30 years ago they filled in a lot of the rust with body filler. The frame looks rusty. too. but I was told this is typical of a Bentley or Rolls that was driven mostly around London. England. Please. ask questions before bidding. not after. Sorry. but I won't be much help in arranging transportation. but will help wherever possible.
