Survivor BMWs E30's like this don't come up for sale often. Reluctantly because I am needing the garage space for a new car and can't imaging keeping her outside, am offering her for sale. She is a very hard to find stunning example of a original silver paint on black interior (favorite combo), ower mileage 1991 BMW 318is, speed transmission. The 318is's are very special cars and have a strong following as they are lighter and have a perfectly balanced suspension that make them a delight to drive. The BMW 318is has been compared to the BMW M3 and is called at times the baby BMW M3 in many ways but at an affordable level. Collector status for the BMW E30 318is is fast approaching and fine survivor examples in this condition are very hard to find. The BMW brings back so many memories and is a blast from the past, et modern enough to be practical and enjoyable. She is accident free, ust free, ith original patina. She is not a bondo filled, heap paint job, ust bucket with hidden previous damage. These cars are only original once and are truly near impossible to find. This 318is has been garaged and babied since new with the previous owner being a Boeing engineer that lived in Seattle and then eventually moving to the Dry Colorado climate. That's were I found her and had to purchase her after recognizing her condition and value. Needless to say I could of shipped her back home, ut I chose to drive her with a grin on my face and flawlessly back home over 1000 miles to Tennessee where she sits in my garage.

Body- Paint shows beautiful and is very original and shinny showing its original patina with a totally dent free body. You can see upon close inspection that the paint has pin hole sized nicks that have never been touched up around the front of the vehicle from reasonable use throughout the years. All the factory panels line up laser straight with no hint of previous damage. The doors, ood and trunk lid open and close perfectly. All the paint jams look factory and great. Overall I get compliments all the time on how nice she shows inside and out.

Trim and weather stripping- All there and in flawless condition no cracks, ears or hardened, ven the area around the sunroof if perfect with no leaks and wind noise. A true sign that she has been well kept in doors.

Engine- The legendary 1.8 Liter motor quickly starts without any smoke, attles or hesitations and idles smoothly and quietly through the exhaust. Routine preventative maintenance has been given throughout the years and I have a folder full of service records and preventative maintenance. The motor revs silky smooth to redline and is extremely fun to drive. No odd noises or vibrations and is as close to perfect as possible. If you look inside the oil cap you can see that there is no gumming up and is very clean with frequent synthetic oil changes. There are NO oil leaks or smells. The motor is clean on the outside, s well as you can see no external corrosion from driving in a salt environment etc. All the factory stickers/ plaques and are in place in the engine compartment.

Transmission is a manual 5 speed with a light and very smooth engaging clutch with plenty of travel showing that the clutch is a newer. The shifter is perfectly balanced and is light and precise with absolutely no synchronizer wear. It is truly a delight to row thru the gears and one of the things that makes this BMW so wonderful to drive. I can't say enough about how it runs and drives. Wow!

Rear end- smooth with original gears and no clunky feel or whining noises.

Suspension- Very nice with no rattles, oises, haking and drives straight with perfectly balanced tires. The steering response is the absolute best thing about this BMW 318is. The BMW looks amazing with the addition of the lowering coil springs to give her the perfect stance, ive her a little more performance handling and make her stand out from the rest. I can't over emphasize how amazing she drives! Mature, recise and balanced. Simply fun, un, un...

Wheels and tires- Beautiful brand new BBS replica 16x8 rims and brand new tires with less than 500 miles on both. The set up stands out and pop with class, ust right in my opinion and others. I have the original rims with good tires available also.

Interior- Near showroom interior. The dash is Perfect! with no ugly cover. The door panels and interior panels are straight, arp free and scratch free showing much TLC. The console is in mint condition along with the headliner and carpet, hey almost look new. The sport seats are in amazing condition for there age with no tears or rips even in the piping. The drivers seat shows NO wear upon close inspection. Overall the interior is amazing and among the best I have ever seen, ven the steering wheel is perfect. with nothing to fix or repair the interior is unbelievable for its age, howing mature careful ownership.

Air-conditioning and heat- The A/C is factory R12 and is very cold and works great through all the settings. Heat works great through all the settings.

Electronics- Power windows work great and smooth with no sluggishness or wind leaks. All the gauges work perfect. Factory BMW stereo is great. which includes a weather channel that functions properly. I can't think of anything to find as a flaw to mention.

Mechanically- Countless new parts. I can't find any flaws or impending problems. Simply perfect.

Cosmetically- A beautiful survivor with original paint and body that is near 100 percent flawless inside and out.

I would not hesitate to drive her home a long distance. She has been very reliable and has been running and driving flawless. I've seen and owned lots of BMWs but this one ranks at the top for originality and condition. I've never entered her in a show but I'm almost certain she would place very high if not win for a survivor class.

Driving her is a blast with a free revving and smooth power that can quickly get you into trouble if not careful. She cruises at highway speeds quietly and smooth, imply no excuses. Everywhere I drive her we often get thumbs up. At the same time she is very reliable and a fuel sipper, s I average routinely 28 to over 30mpg on the highway. Definitely an affordable and fast appreciating classic to look at in your garage and to enjoy driving her with the sunroof open and windows down on a crisp day through the mountains.
