Description of 1987 BMW 6-Series 635Csi |
This 1987 BMW 635CSi is a great candidate for a restoration forthe shark nose enthusiast. I bought the car about 2 years ago for $4500.00with the intention of using it as a driver whileI fix it up. Shortly after purchasing, he transmission literally ground to a halt. I have had the transmission and torque converterrebuilt by European Transmissionsand reinstalled. At the time of installation, had the hoses flushed and theradiator replaced with a new one so that there would not be any old contaminates remaining. I have also installed new vented rotors up front with new pads. I have replaced the upper and lower control arms up front and the steering is tight. The rearaxle shafts have been replaced as well. The tires up front(225/45) have about 75% life remaining and the rear (265/35) are brand new.The car starts right up and runs great. Now for the bad; The paint and interior are in need of complete restoration and the wheels have some curb rash. The rear window needs a new seal/gasket and the original radio deck has been replaced with an older aftermarket unit that is not currently installed. The electric antennawas not workingso I removed it and have not replaced at this time. Some of the trim is not reinstalled after some paint work and the BMW emblems for the hood and trunk are missing. The previous title did not list any discrepancies with the odometerhowever listing EXEMPT on the title is standard procedure for the state of Alabama Dept. of Revenue due to the age of the car. Ihave notused the car as a daily driver butI think that with a fewroad trips, his will prove tobe a mechanically sound car. Having said that, he mileage will change a little for test drives and such.I have put more money into the car than I could reasonably expect to get back, ut finances require that I move on.This is not a "flip for profit" car, o I am glad to answer any question you haveconcerningthe vehicle. I have no intension of misrepresenting the condition of the car and I encourage the buyer to view and drivethe car in person prior to bidding. The car is listed locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. I will not end the auction if a bid has been placed on this auction. |
