Description of 1987 BMW 5-Series 528e
Up for auction is my well maintained and ready to drive home 1987 BMW 5-series 528e 5 speed Manual. I have owned the car for a little over a year and now I am looking forward to making some space in the garage.
The black leather interior is in great shape as you can see in the pictures. No rips or stains and the carpet is in good condition as well. The electronics work great too: power seats, door windows, Speedometer, Cold AC & Heat, turn signals, brake lights, antenna, window wipers, Fog Lights, Head Lights, and High Beams.The Alpina white body exterior is in great shape as well but this is almost a 30 year old car so it is not perfect.
All of the maintenance items I have taken care of at 160k miles:
  • New Timing Belt, New Alternator Belt, New Power Steering Belt
  • Oil change
  • New Battery
  • New Water Pump & Thermostat Housing (I also painted them with red insulating varnish paint to prevent static build up that prematurely wears them out.)
  • New Spark Plugs
  • New Valve Cover Gasket
  • Air Filter
  • Replaced stamped cam and oil pump gears with newer OEM sinter gears.
  • Alternator Voltage Regulator Replaced
  • New Distributor Rotor
Upgrades
  • New Bluetooth Radio & Speakers
    • Pioneer MVH-X380BT Digital Media Receiver with Short Chassis Design and Bluetooth
    • Rockford Fosgate Punch P1462 4 x 6-Inches Full Range Coaxial Speakers
    • Rockford Fosgate R169X3 Prime 6 x 9 Inch 3-Way Full-Range Coaxial Speaker
  • OEM Button retrofitted to control operation of antenna.
  • New Chrome Tip Muffler
  • New AC Blower motor
  • LED Licenses plate lights & new housings. (Original lights eventually yellow the housings)

Please Note:
  • Warning Light is on because of these two items but both items work fine.
    • License Plate Light: Replaced old bulbs with LED bulbs.
    • Brake Lights: They work fine and are still OEM bulbs but the resistance of bulbs doesn't match exactly with what the computer knows so it triggers a signal warning.
