Description of 1994 BMW 3-Series Sport |
It's more than a car it's a keepsake! This car is a real cream-puff...driven by a little old man...my Dad...and in my possession since. I saw this car on the showroom floor when he bought it and I have hardly driven it since his passing on 12/09/2011. It has a few little issues but the key selling point is thatthis car has only 76,711 ORIGINAL MILES on it. The odometer has not rolled over. That's right...driven by a little old man. The engine is strong and has a deep throaty roar that sounds great as you tool aroundwith the top down. My Dad was compulsive about keeping his cars in mint condition so it is really in great shape inside for a car of this age. This would be a perfect college car or present for a recent college grad getting ready for their career or just anyone that appreciates the drive of a fine BMW.Their cars are built around their engines which is how they started business...manufacturing airplane engines...they can't sputter or cough or the plane goes down. The famous FW-190 fighter from WWII was powered by a BMW rotary engine. The logo for BMW is a stylized propeller. You will notice from the photos that the rear plastic window has been replaced. It is not OEM but actually better. The moldings on the OEM get hard and crack with continued use and up and down of the top. In this car's case it was mostly becausethe plastic was from 1994. Here is the website where I bought the replacement for ithttp://emiata.com/E36Window.asp. It is marine vinyl which is more durable and will stay clear longer. I will throw in a bottle of clear vinyl polish which will keep it like new. It also has a hole that has worn in the leather for the driver's seat (see photo) however I have dark gray genuine sheepskin covers which my Dad gave me and they fit over it perfectly. Again, those will be included. Also the door upholstery for the driver's door is loose. Eventually you will want to have them fixed. If you live in a border state you should be able to do that for no more than $200 for both. The car has always been garaged and the paint is not faded and is a rich Samoanblue with a black top that is in mint condition. If you garage it will last another 76,000 miles. Why am I selling it? 2 reasons...this car was made to run and I need the money...my loss is your gain. A downturn in my business has forced me to sell it. I really hardly drove it so it needs an owner that will keep it humming. If you're a purist this is a great car to tweak back to show status as it is well preserved for a driver. If you want to hop it up...it already runs great and with some aerodynamics and new radio and speakers and some tuning items readily available in aftermarket you could have. Or you could go all the way with an Overhaulin' style update if you want as this would be a great base car to start with. There is no rust anywhere as the car was in desert environments (Scottsdale, AZ and El Paso, TX) and never left out in the rain. You really will enjoy this car and I want it to go to a good home. PS: Windhield washer not working. |
