Description of 1985 BMW M6 M635CSI |
The E24 6 series is one of my favorite cars, it is just a stylish German work of art. With the rise in values of German motorcars the M6 is on the right track of steady value increases as has been seen lately. I have owned about a dozen E24 M cars and three European M635csi, this one is my favorite of them all. In the last two or so years I sold an 87 M6 with 54,000 miles, as well as an 87 M6 with 63,000 an a 85 M635CSI with 5300 miles! Out of all the M cars I have owned this one hands down is the most fun to drive which I will explain more a little further down. You are looking at a super rare European version BMW M635CSI. Unlike the American version M6 this M635csi has the M88 DOHC engine that produces 286 horsepower compared to the US M6 which produces 256 horsepower. Along with a bit more performance the European cars have some cool options like the rear seat headrests and the headlight washers. This M635CSI has a couple extras like the factory equal length headers but they mate to a full length stainless steel exhaust that produces such a note you never want to be off the gas. There was a major engine out service about 10 years ago just to make sure every component is functioning properly, this particular M635CSI has always been garaged and well cared for. Recently the full brake system was refreshed with new pads and rotors, as well as new caliper pistons and a full rebuild of the calipers. The fuel system also received some attention by dropping the tank and having it cleaned and boiled to remove any impurities. Both the internal and external fuel pumps were replaced, which both had to be purchased by a friend in Europe and mailed to the states, as the German spec M635CSI has different fuel pumps than the US counterpart. This M635CSI is now ready for many more miles of driving pleasure. The closed lug Alpina wheels are fairly new and have newer tires as well. The M powered E24 is ready for any road trip, tires, brakes, handles, stops and performs as a true BMW super car.The market trend is on the rise for these rare cars the 6 series M cars are still lacking in value with its M3 and M5 counterparts, even though the M6 was the flagship of the BMW brand and cost quite a bit more when they were sitting on the showroom floor together. The M6 has gained a lot in value over the past few years but there is still a lot more room to move it will not be long before the "good" M6s will cost you 6 figures as some of the best are already there. This European M635CSI is the one to have as the are as the factory designed the cars to be, no giant 5 mile an hour bumpers but the slim streamlined chrome version, the rare rear headrests, the headlight washer system all set this car out in front of already super rare cars. This M635CSI has never been in an accident, it was repainted about 10 years ago and both front fenders were replace with BMW oem parts, there was a small amount of corrosion under the fender lips, the previous owner opted to just replace them. This E24 is super dry car and does not suffer from the cancer bug BMW are notorious for. I am selling some vehicles off to make room for a larger garage, which is kind of a conundrum because if I sell all my cars I don't need a larger garage. Needless to say I will also be posting soon a super rare 1966 Ford Bronco Roadster U13 with 28,000 original miles, a 1963 Austin Healey 3000 with 39,000 original miles, a 1972 Mercedes 280SEL with 80,000 original miles, and a 1970 Chevrolet CST/10. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime to discuss this fine car. Happy Bidding! two one four 274 432one. The euro M635CSI is 3307 lbs versus the US M6 weighing in at 3569 lbs. The M635CSI has a hotter 264 degree cam vs the US 248. The euro M88 is a 10.5:1 vs the S38 US is 9.8:1 compression. All of this contributes to better performance and more fun in the seat. Thanks and Happy Bidding! |
