THE OVERVIEW Offered for an appreciating new ownerat NO RESERVE is this classic 1974 BMW 2002 two-door sedan! Finished in a re-painted silvery bronzit over black, this 36 year-old E10-chassis Bimmer shows 17,500 miles on its working five-digot odometer. Maybe it is 117k or two or three hundred. In any case, this iconic double 02 sports a great running 2.0 liter inline four cylinder engine mated to the factory 4 speed manual transmission with stopping power provided by front disc and rear drum brakes. Features include factory crank sunroof, Blaupunkt stereo, 13" BBS Mahle mesh alloy wheels with good rubber, reclining seats and more. Offered here at NORESERVE, this is a great find for less than the cost of the sales tax alone on a new base level three series! THE BODY AND TRIM The exterior of this 1974 2002 is in fair NOT99.99% rust-free condition! Yes it is a bit of a hot mess as you can see in the photos with the hood [or what is left of it] rusted in several spots. Originally a "taiga" or "mint green" color, the older Bronzit paint is dull, rusted, nicked, scratched and corroded. The good news is that the shock towers front and rear are quite structurally solid. This is key on these cars! I think the photos tell a better story than more rambling from me! THE INTERIOR As I hope is articulated in the photos, the interior of this 02 is in decent condition. The carpets look to be original, the dash is only cracked minimally, the horn, lights, blinkers and odometer work well and the door panels are original and un-cut! Imperfections inside include jammed sunroof cables, intermittent working radio, crusty torn headliner, mismatched worn front seats, dry and springy rear seats, inop heater fan and erratic speedometer needle. THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE This 1974 BMW starts easily with very good running and quite peppy engine, smooth shifting transmission and solid steering and suspension. The brakes are pulling a bit [possibly a system bleed or sticky caliper]. Overall this car drives surprisingly well....much better than it looks!Check out the test drive video here:https://youtu.be/zVe3T_aYeW8 THE DETAILS AND $$$$ 1.This 1974 BMW is being sold with California salvage title.
