Description of 1984 BMW 3-Series

For Sale to the highest bidder is a 1984 E30 As-Iswith no warranty.
History:I acquired it from a workmate in 1999 who bought it new from a BMW dealer on 9/15/1984. The first registration was on 9/17/1984 in Illinois. My workmate relocated to Arizona in 1986 then to the NW. I am the second owner and have had it serviced or repaired over the years through Kuni BMW, Mike O'Hara BMW, Motor Sports International, and Matrix Integrated. I paid cash for it so the title is clear of any liens, and in later years, I usually covered it with a custom canvas weather cover and drove it very little. See the details from the original sticker in one of the images. The Experian AutoCheck Report is in the images as well.
Why am I selling it is simple:I have too many vehicles to care for, I want to reduce my insurance premiums, and little time to care for them. Why not enable some other enthusiasts to enjoy the vehicle? The inside driver's visibility is great, it looks cute, and my neighbors say I should not sell it. But each spring, when I remove the cover, reconnect the battery, and start it up the first time - it has never disappointed in starting right up despite the miles on the engine. It has been a great "extra car" when it was needed.
Features:Power Windows, Cruise Control, Central Locking, Leather Pearl Upholstery, Dual Position Sunroof, Limited Slip Differential, On-Board computer, Baltic Blue Metallic Paint, Sony Blue-tooth radio w/Remote and Hands-free phone, BMW Front Bra. Comes with an old set of winter tires (Blizzaks) on BMW wheels, and another set of Bridgestone Potenzas. Currently riding on a set of Potenzas.
Maintenance Performed:It has not been in any accidents and has had repairs done over time, though none to the engine. Local major service/repair records I have done are available. In 2000: Idle valve, idle controller, and O2 were replaced. In 2003, Belts were replaced. In 2006, Front struts, L/R lower control arms and bushings, and front rotors/pads were replaced.in 2019: Replaced steering rack assembly. Tie Rod ends, Power Steering reservoir, hoses, and performed an alignment. The previous owner replaced the speedometer on 5/7/1997 at 149936 (see door jam label image). It currently indicates 63806 indicated but is north of 213K. Other item engine items I serviced were: Distributor cap and wires, O2 sensor, Mass Air Flow Sensor, Idle Air Stabilizer Valve, Idle Speed Control Unit, Fuel Filter and hoses, Heater Blower, Thermostat Housing, High/Low Radiator Thermal Switches(temp sensors for Aux Cooling Fan), Automatic Antenna Motor, Spark Plugs, Oil changes, and various Vacuum Hoses. Spare parts, belts, and hoses are in the Trunk, along with various fluids and a Fire extinguisher.
Everything needed to bring this vehicle back to near original.Reference Material: Original BMW Repair Manual for 1984 318i-M3, BMW 3-Series Service Manual (R. Bentley), BMW 1984 325e/318i Electrical Troubleshooting Manual, BMW Enthusiasts Guide, and 101 Performance Projects for your BMW.See images of manuals, original features sticker, and VIN.
Needed to be done:Central locking is not working(I don't know why I have not investigated it), the Blower Resistor Plate needs replacement (I did find it was faulty but did not order a new one. The fan only works on High right now), the Onboard Computer works but is dim (I think it's internal battery needs charging since I disconnect the main battery in the fall), the Tires need to be changed, the Driver's Seat Upholstery needs repair, and both seats need to be re-sprung. The carpet needs replacing due to water damage, the Front oil pan, and/or main bearing oil leak, and Body repair is needed on the left front fender (see image), and it could use a new paint job.
