Description of 1971 Buick Other GSX

Up for sale is a perfectly done 1971 Buick GSX Tribute (Clone). This was originally a Skylark with a 350 engine, nd was white with a tan interior and had about 75,000 miles on it. It was a Texas car for most of its life and during the restoration, inimal rust was discovered and all was repaired. It has a Buick 455 from a 1970 Riviera GS. It was totally rebuilt and bored 30 over by Calvert Performance engines in Denton TX. The paint, ody and interior work was all done by Kustom Classics in Ft. Worth TX. The interior is new upholstery, ew seat foam in front buckets, new interior door and quarter panels, ew carpet, ew headliner (not a great installation and have a replacement headliner that goes with the car). The paint and striping are perfect. Both front and rear bumpers have been re=chromed, ack bumper was sent to Chicago so they could punch the openings for the special thru the bumper exhaust system exclusive to the GSX, nd it looks flawless. New exhaust and new brakes. The car has power steering and power brakes. It has AC but has not been gone thru and does not function. Has an AM/FM radio but does not work. Has a correct original GSX grill that is perfect. It has a built in tach in the instrument cluster that works. The car looks great. I showed it a couple of times when it was completed, ever drove it more than 50 miles since all was redone. After I took the pictures shown here, put it in the garage and have only started I maybe a half dozen times in the last 18 months. It needs to be driven and enjoyed. You can drive a GSX, ook great doing it all for the price of a Skylark. When I showed the car, ven judges could not be sure it was not an authentic GSX which bring over $100,000.The car is sold as is where is. The car is not perfect and I want to tell you what I would do it to finish it out to perfection. I think it needs a new dash wiring harness. It looks like it may have had lots of modifications to it. The AC fan motor would run sporadically so someone cut the wires to the fan. When the dash pad was installed, t was a perfect non-cracked original dash pad. Suddenly it had a small crack in the dash. I bought a glue on dash cap to go over it, ut have not installed it. The current dash has the aftermarket GSX insignia above the glove box. The tires could stand to be replaced. Not that the tread is bare, hey just are a little old and I would worry about dry rot. I can make you a deal on some new tires. About two weeks after the new windshield was installed, two inch crack appeared in the upper right hand corner of the windshield. You cannot see it from inside the car but you can from outside. This car is stunning and needs a few small things but the hard (and expensive) has been done. I have well over $30,000 in this car so it is being advertised at a loss. Buy this car and with a little work enjoy it to the max. This car has an original four spoke, ubber steering wheel. If you are familiar with these, ith age they get sticky and the one in the car is sticky. There is also a new correct aftermarket steering wheel in the trunk with the head liner and dash cap. I have had several people email me and ask if I thought it would make a long trip. My answer is who knows. While I spent over $22,000 restoring this car, cannot make any guarantee what a 45 year old car would do on a 800 mile trip. I would not drive without new tires for sure, nd I certainly would not anticipate a problem free trip. I have only driven the car for 50 or so miles since the restoration was completed and it has not been started in at least a year.
