Based on the latest GM C-body chassis and featuring a new wrap around front windshield, the new Buick Supers were big cars for budget minded buyers. Featuring simpler upholstery but the same upscale instrument panel as the higher level Roadmaster, the Super had the new round portholes on the fender that symbolized the 322cid "Nailhead" V8 engine that came mated to a 2 speed Dynaflow automatic transmission. The sweep spear was also a key styling feature on Buick's mid price... luxury car. Standard Super equipment included trip mileage indicator, electric clock, and a horizontal speedometer.
