Description of 1978 Buick Riviera |
I have added more pictures underneath the Riviera so you can see the floors. It is a clean driver with no cancer. I had multiple questions about how solid the floors are or if the car came from a rusty area of the States. Vehicle was on the West Coast for it's entire life. I also added 2 pictures of the inside of the driver's door panel. On most cars. this is the most abused door panel. You will see that the moisture barrier/weather protecting and insulation are in almost perfect shape. Please note that they are in great shape and HAVE NOT been replaced with new ones. These are original and lend credibility to how well this vehicle was preserved and cared for. I also added 7 pictures underneath the Riviera. Please notice that nothing has been covered up or rattle canned to make it look better than it is or hide anything. Truly a dry and clean example. For 1978. a special "LXXV" edition was released to commemorate Buick's 75th anniversary on the market. Production total was 2. 99 and included special silver & black paint with gray leather seats with black trim. brushed chrome trim. deep pile carpeting and special LXXV name plates. They were dressed similar to the 1978 Corvette pace car with a Black over silver paint scheme. Leather seats with black piping was the standard trim on this beautiful sported up version. Brushed Aluminum trim inside replaced the wood grain that the lesser models had. Other Highlights:Last year the Riviera was rear wheel drive. This fine example has the Optional big engine. the 403 6. 6L V8. Optional 4 wheel disc brakesOptional Power Passenger Seat to complement the standard Power Driver's sideOptional Rear Window DefrosterOptional Wiper delayOptional Buick Road WheelsOptional Power Trunk ReleaseOptional Cruise ControlOptional Cornering LightsOptional AM/ FM/ 8 TrackOptional Door Edge GuardsTake a look at the interior pictures. You will see a very well preserved vehicle with original seating. original AM/FM 8 track tape player. and Air Conditioning that blows ICE COLD on R12 Freon. Power windows. nbsp; Power door locks. Power trunk release. Power Seats. Power Antenna work flawlessly. Radio works as designed. AC / Heat and Auto Climate Control system works as designed!!Cruise Control works as designed. Headlamps. turn signals. high beams. cornering lights. all work as designed. I am the 3rd owner. California titled and registered in my name. Under the hood you will find a very stock example of the 1978 Olds 403 engine. All Vacuum lines connected as they were originally. This car has not been cut up and modified. Recently passed California smog certificationThe vehicle has been well preserved. It is not a perfect show car. but it is a great looking driver that gets a lot of attention wherever you go. Most of these have been butchered up to one degree or another either under the hood or the dashboard for some late model radio. This is like a time capsule out of the late 70's. If you know about the LXXV. you know they are very hard to find and even if you can find one. it probably won't look like this one. I have the original window sticker. the original owners manual. original body order Broadcast sheetI have assisted in shipping many cars overseas so that does not scare me as long as we deal with a good escrow/shipper. I am between LA and San Diego which should make shipping easy |
