Description of 1983 Buick Riviera XX

Is and has been garage kept but can be driven any day, very dependable.Highly collectible. 1983 was the year the Riviera was chosen as Pace Car for the Indianapolis 500, 422 vehicles were fitted with the 307 V8 and certified to be acceptable as Pace cars. This is one of the 422 vehicles. I will provide links with more information about this vehicle and it's unique year. Everything works that I am aware of. No known mechanical deficiencies. If the Riviera sits a few months, the rear passenger window switch needs to be cleaned with ekectric contact cleaner. The same is true of the driver seat switch. I have a new switch for the rear window but have not felt a need to replace it yet. I say this for full disclosu. This car is loaded with every available option. Top is in descent shape, but needs some stitching redone in a couple of places. I will update photos to reflect these places. Top opens/closes with air pump. Some stone chips exist in paint and there are normal wear marks on body.On Jun-11-19 at 12:56:53 PDT, seller added the following information:

State Farm inspected this Fine Car and insured it as a collectible, placing replacement value at $20,000.
I have included photos which accurately show the cars cinditiin, including areas which are not perfect. Please look them over well and pay close attention to detail, as this car is being sold "as is”. Please notice where the stitching has come loose in a couple ares around the back window and above/around the doors. The holes in which stitching is missing are in tact and may be restitched. There is one year, about the size of a quarter on the passenger side convertible top which is actually a year and could easily be fixed. If the buyer wanted it to be a show car, it would be best to replace the top, but otherwise, personally I only intended to repair it and drive her to shows and events like she is. I add these things for full disclosure. The body is perfectly straight, but there are a few stone nicks. There is a small area on one front fender which was a parking lot ding. It is hard to notice without looking closely.
This 1983 Riviera Convertable is magnificent. It turns heads everywhere I take her. The engine, exhaust, transmission and all mechanical areas are excellent. The only deficiencies I am aware of I have listed, though others could exist which I am unaware of, so I make no claims otherwise.
My daughters and I only drive her to events and sometimes on vacations. She is never driven hard. We do take her several hundred miles on vacation sometimes and have zero concerns about dependability.
The leather is supple and in wonderful condition. We hate to part with her, but I have too many projects. I have a 1975 Hurts NASCAR Pace car which we want to put more time into or we wouldn't be selling this Riviera. Below I will add info about this VERY UNIQUE VEHICLE AND YEAR.

Hemings info on this car:https://www.hemmings.com/blog/2014/03/24/lost-cars-of-the-1980s-1982-1985-buick-riviera-convertible/
Only 500 1983 Convertible Riviera cars were produced with the 307 V8 engine combination. 422 were sold to the public and two were authorized as INDY pace cars. Other than the turbo option, all 500 were made to the same specifications as the pace cars, many of which were used for show cars in the INDY promo tours. I am not sure if this one was used in this way, but this I know, this was the ONLY YEAR Buick was used as an Indy pace car. Owning this car means owning a unique piece of history.
