Description of 1987 Buick Grand National |
Added 06/11/15:Last picture of GN trunk code added. This is the only way to prove its a real GN. The WE2 code shows its a GN. -----------------------------------------------------------I am selling my 1987 Buick Grand National that is currently my daily driver. The car is an excellent example of an original Grand National since this car is not a replica (verified by the trunk code) and has almost all the original parts. The first owner drove the car for 54k miles and kept the car original except for a AFPR vacuum block brake booster and steering wheel. He let the car sit for about 10 years and two years ago I bought the car and began to address some of the issues. The only main issue is that the transmission likes to stay in 1st gear I was told this is a "TV cable adjustment" but if you drive softly passengers don't notice that there is an issue. Once above 45mph the problem doesn't occur at all. Below is what has been addressed so far. *The original turbo had blown seals and was replaced with another original turbo from a Grand National. *New Rotors pads drums shoes and shoe hardware done within 3k miles. *F-body aluminum Radiator swap (due to leaking original one) with seperate oil and trans coolers. *Wiper motor replaced within 3k miles. *Hood struts replaced within 3k miles *Intercooler Couplings upgraded along with clamps within 3k miles. *Headliner replaced. *Passenger seat in good condition along with back seats. Since I bought the car I have been daily driving it only during the spring/summer/fall time. The car starts fine and for a 27 year old car behaves very well. Things that need repair *Power Antenna motor failed can be ordered and replaced. *boost and tachometer read incorrectly can be corrected with send board out to get repaired. *Trunk has rust by key I have another Grand Nationl trunk that is rust free that comes with sale. *Driver side fender is dented. *Hood bump is missing "3.8L SFI TURBO" trim. *Minimal surface rust along runners no structure rust. *Body fillers are broken can be purchased and are available. *Slight crack in fiberglass above grill. *Speakers in car need replacement. *Driver seat in worn condition. *Blower Fan was intermittent and now does not work. When powering fan directly all speeds work. So that is the car. I am trying to be as honest as I can because I hope this car goes to a good home that continues to drive it while performing the slight improvements it needs. Does not overheat and runs well. I drive it everyday back and forth to philadelphia and use it for all my errands and long trips to visit my family in north NJ. I am selling the car because it has been a project between my father and myself but now I am trying to move him down to south jersey and we decided it is time to let the car go. We are trying to break even on our investment based on what the car and parts cost us and we really want to see this car go to a good home. If you have any questions let me know! |
