Description of 1956 Buick Roadmaster |
This car has been garage kept from 1970-2014. In 1969 wiring caught fire in the engine. My father rewired and the motor was running perfect after that. Unfortunately it never was repainted other than some primer and remained stored in his garage. The hood has some surface rust from sitting out this past year. There is a dent on the passenger door. (see picture). This belonged to my father who past away a couple years back. I have no interest in restoring it. The pot metal thermostat housing on the motor has corroded so I do not have the ability to start the engine at this time. The starter switch under the gas pedal is apparently not working; however I was able to by-pass the switch and confirm that the engine turns over under battery power. Since it has been sitting since 1970 I thought it best to not try to start it. The interior is rough (see pictures) however there is original plastic on much of the seating. This car has power steering power brakes power seats and power windows. Body is solid. Surface rust only. Bumpers are pitted. Clean title. very restorable! |
