Description of 1973 Cadillac Fleetwood |
Up for auction is a very factory original 1973 Cadillac limousine. a true survivor with only 66. 93 miles. This Cadillac Fleetwood 75 series has spent its entire life in sunny California in the hands of one owner for 40 years. The car was special ordered by the owner in Los Angeles and when it was picked up he drove it to his home in Stockton were it stayed for the next 40 years. The car was chauffer driven by the family houseman to transport the owner to work for a few years and then went into semi-retirement being used for sunday drives to church. I am a Jaguar Collector and restorer and am selling this Cadillac for a friend and I was able to spend a morning driving it. inspecting it and photographing it and below is a detailed description of what I found. The body is rust and dent free and was painted once in 1985 in the original color. The paint is still glossy but is starting to show its age in a few localized areas (see 2 close up photos) In the photos you can see were the paint is seperating from the primer. this is only seen on close inspection and does not detract from the overall presentation of the car. The engine is a 472 cubic inch V8 and starts easily with no smoke or rattling. The 3 speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly and the brakes stop the car well with no pulling to the side. The climate control system works but the A/C blows cool not cold. a service is probably needed. All the power and electrical equipment works except the clock and power antenna. Overall the car drives very well but there is a slight exhaust leak that can be heard when accelerating hard. it appears to be coming from a muffler pipe seal. The interior is all original and in excellent condition. The only flaws are that the headliner has faded evenly to a golden shade from its original black and there is some light wear on the drivers seat by the shoulder belt (please see photos) Please feel free to call me (Simon-559 349 3109) or Email me for any additional information . Bidders with less than 2 positive feedbacks must contact me before bidding or their bid will be retracted. Good luck bidding! Sorry for the confusion. I also forgot to mention that the cruise control is currently not working. |
