Description of 1993 Cadillac Allante Vogue |
My dad was a Cadillac Man, and this 1993 Allante was his baby. When he passed away two years ago, my mother wasn’t ready to get rid of the Allante, she drove it for a few months, and then last year it came to live with my family, and now it’s time to move to another family. Here’s your chance to be that owner. The car was originally purchased in Iowa before coming to Colorado. It was purchased at Red Noland Cadillac in Colorado Springs by my father in 1997. As long as it’s been in our family, it’s always been garaged and not driven in bad weather. During the winter months, my dad would start the car weekly and roll the tires to prevent any flat-spotting. I have done the same. In 20 years my dad put about 45,000 miles on it. In 2007 he had become frustrated with the constant issues (overheating) the original Northstar V8 was giving him, and he had a brand-new 1997 Northstar crate-motor put in by Red Noland Cadillac (to the tune of about $10,000) GM has all the records. Since that time, the car has had about 2500 miles put on it with absolutely no issues whatsoever. The car is Polo Green with cream leather interior. Overall the paint is in incredible condition, highly reflective and can almost look black. It has the optional aluminum hardtop that comes off and goes on easily, but two people are needed for the job. The optional Vogue wheels and tires were always one of his favorite aspects of the car. The hand-painted pinstriping down the side ends with the words, “Two-Gether Again.” This came with the car when he purchased it, and we begged him to have it removed, but he felt it was just part of the car. If I was going to keep it, it would be gone! The car is 25 years old and has some minor dings and scratches that represents its age. A good buffing and polishing would take care of all cosmetic blemishes. I’ve tried to get pictures of all that is not perfect with the car. The pictures were all taken today (July 4th), and I used no filters, photo-shopping, or color editing. What you see is what you get. I used a dust-cloth and vacuum to clean the interior. I don’t want to change the way my dad always cared for the car. You are not here to see the car in person, so I want to be as specific as I can with some things that need attention:
The car has aged incredibly well for being 25 years old. There are not a lot of them around, less than 5,000 were built in 1993 when Cadillac finally figured out what the car needed. There’s a lot out there on the internet about the collectability of the Allante, if you want to read about the car. I get a lot of questions, thumbs-up, smiles and waves all the time when I drive it. If I had a larger garage, I’d keep it. $1,000 deposit will be required within 24 hours of the end of the auction. Full payment is required before the car will be released. The car is sold as-is, where-is, and there is no warranty implied or provided. There is no reserve.Winning bidder will be responsible for arranging pick-up and transportation. Please ask any questions you may have. |
