Description of 1965 Cadillac DeVille |
Here is my 65 Cadillac I put together in 2009/10 and built it to drive. It starts right up, idles great and drives awesome. This is such a fun car to drive. I would regularly drive this car 100+ miles each way to Lake Erie and back on the weekends- all interstates and it was a blast! I still drive it a few times a month to keep fluid circulating and fuel fresh. Over the last couple years I have not had as much interest in the car so I'm putting it out there for someone else to enjoy. I've also picked up another project and I need to make some room in the shop. Mechanically many of the stock parts have been replaced with aftermarket, but I have saved all the original parts that I got with the car and they will be included with the car if you choose to take them. Some of the included parts are as follows. Heater valve, Alternator,Voltage regulator, AC compressor, Jack,Rear fender skirts, coil, ac lines, fuel sending unit, wiper motor, steering linkage and misc parts, power antenna motor, hub caps, air cleaner, rear brake backing plates with pads and drums. The steering has all been rebuilt and it is tight and responsive. Radial tires, new shocks all the way around, with air shocks in the rear. Aluminum radiator, new water pump, powermaster alternator, optima battery, pertronix ignition, rebuilt carburetor. This is a factory AC car, but it does not work currently. The brakes have been upgraded to front disc, all new hoses and lines, dual reservoir master cylinder and they work awesome. The fuel tank has been sealed to prevent any rust or corrosion in the fuel, lines replaced, and pump replaced. The body was repainted in 09/10 and holding up well. It's not without a few bubbles and minor scratches, but has held up good and looks shiny and smooth all cleaned up. The trim pieces are not perfect but they are all there, there are some dings in them. Some of the chrome parts have been replaced and shine like new and others are showing their age. The The front bumper end has a dent in it (see photos) and the bumpers could use re-chromed and some minor aligning if you want perfection. The convertible top in in good shape. All the frame work is there and moves freely. It does need the pump replaced for it to go up and down with the switch. These kits are widely available and cost about 600 bucks. If it's something you wanted done we could probably work that into the deal. I've always just put it up and down manually. I do not have a boot to cover the top when it's down. Interior is good. The carpet and seat upholstery have been replaced at the same time as the body was painted. The gauges work, wipers are good, as mentioned before no AC, but I do have a switch for heat hidden for blower motor and power antenna. The dash is cracked, as is the windshield. I've never replaced these even though they are available. The convertible top could use new rubber and aligned with windows but the doors and trunk seals have been replaced and are nice and soft. The music plays loud in this car. There are 2 Hifonics amps, one for the sub-woofer and the other is a 4 channel for the door speakers. The trunk is clean with black carpet and houndstooth tweed on panels. Take a look at thephotos as they are part of the description. I'd be happy to answer any questions or provide more photos upon request. The car is located in Malvern Ohio 44644. Sold as is where is and I'd be happy to assist in shipping. I've described this car honestly to the best of my ability. Please ask questions or come view car. The car is also for sale locally so feel free to put in an offer. |
