This is a Great ! 1956 Cadillac Sedan De Ville. This car is a real true survivor and is in great original condition. The car originally came from California and appears to be all original. Although the paint looks bad, I believe it is the original paint, except for the roof which has been painted, but still have a primer spot on it. 62 Years old and has original paint !!! Very rare to find. The car is straight, no dents, dings, and obviously no hidden rust. The only rust I have been able to find is a few small pin holes on the passenger side rocker panel, I have shown this in the pictures. The inside of the door jambs is excellent ! The underside of the car is very dry and rust free as well, the floors, trunk, inner rocker panels are all original and in good rust free condition. The interior is all original and in very good shape. There is one cut / tear in the dash pad, and the stitching has come out of the rear arm rest, otherwise it's all in good original condition. The front and rear seats and good, the door panels are good, the rear parcel shelf could be replaced, the headliner is good with no rips but it does have some staining / discoloration on it. The driver side vent windowframe is boken where they all break, but it does not effect it's use, the vent glass is also cracked because of this. There is one small stone chip in the windshield, but it has not spread, and the rest of the glass is all good. The chrome is all original and in good shape. Mechanically the car is in good condition.It is licensed and insured and on the road, I drive it around locally. It starts easy and drives great ! The tires are old but have lots of tread. I've had a number of these Cadillac's and this one drives better than most I've had. The car is very well optioned, with factory air conditioning, autronic eye, power windows, 6 way power seat, e-z eye tint glass, fog lights, and power trunk. All windows work, the power trunk works great too ! I haven't been able to get the power seat working, it just clicks, I'm not sure what is wrong with it. The A/C does not work, the belt is still on the compressor, but I have not investigated why it doesn't work. All lights work, even the fog lights ! as do all gauges, except temp gauge. The interior courtesy lights work as well.
Overall this is an amazing original car that is very rust free and is a great turn key driver. It really doesn't need anything to be driven, I drive it all the time. As with any 62 year old car there always is something that could be done, but you can drive it and enjoy it right now as is. It gets a ton of attention with it's patina and everyone loves it. There are no hidden surprises here !I have a clear title to the car in my name and will help with shipping anyway I can. There are no problems with this car going back to the US, it was originally sold new in the US and is exempt from most regulations due to that and it's age.
