Description of 1969 Chevrolet Corvette |
1969 Chevrolet Corvette rare L-89 427/435 HP engine option for sale. Monza red with black interior. 4-speed M-21 manual transmission. One of only 390 produced in 1969 with L-89 aluminum heads. Bloomington Gold certified. Believed to have 25,000 original miles, ut Florida title states mileage: "EXEMPT." Older frame off restoration which has stood the test of time. Some items have been refreshed to make the car look like the restoration was done recently. All numbers match. Car comes with complete documentation which includes the original window sticker and order sheet (fuel tank sticker). Also have the Bloomington Gold certificate as well as the judging sheets which indicate the car scored 99%! Engine runs and idles smooth and transmission shifts nicely. Factory side pipes were an added option. This car sounds really nice goingthrough the gears! Lacquer paint is in excellent condition with no cracks or rock chips. Frame and engine compartment are in show condition. New correct and date stamped R79S Delco reproduction battery. Just installed new carpet, ew seat foam, ew seat covers and new door sill plates. Also installed new Holley carburetors with correct numbers and date stamps. New steel fuel lines from pump to carburetors and new correct fuel pump installed. The engine compartment was refreshed with new date stamped radiator overflow tank, ew vacuum canister, nd new head light/wiper door relay actuator valve. New leaf spring rubber bushings also installed as originals were showingtheir age. The frame maintains a nice black finish with absolutely no corrosion. The chassis steel has a solid and smooth surfaceunlike many cars of this era that have a course, itted surface or painted over rust finish. This is testament that the car has been properly stored and cared for over the years. Note the photo of the engine shows some red paint overspray on the aluminum heads near the exhaust manifold. The front and rear of the heads have no overspray and show bare aluminum. The classic Corvette market has recognized the value of the similar L-88 engine option. It's only a matter of time before the L-89 Corvettes take off in value. Hagerty values a #2 L-89 Corvette at $89,200 and a #1 L-89 Corvette at $111,500.
