It's not just that Artesian Turquoise represents the era so well, ut also it's this Chevelle's factory-correct color that has been painstakingly worked on to look just like the day it was born in Chevy's Baltimore facility. The panels are so excellent on this car that you'll wonder if that factory really ever did make them this straight. As a true Super Sport coupe, t has a wild streak that contrasts the paint with dark accents on the blacked-out grille, lacked-out rear panel, nd optional black vinyl roof. Adding to this attitude are the correct SS 396 badges on the front and rear, acing flags on the front fenders, nd "Super Sport" boldly written on the rear in chrome to match the bumpers. Plus, his Chevelle SS still has all the details right - from the twin intake hood, o the ribbed color-accented lower body panels. Even the wheel package is as it should be with hubcaps and redline tires that were specific to a Chevelle SS in 1966. There's even a signed portrait from Michael Landon, ho played Little Joe on the hit TV series Bonanza, elieved to be from an appearance at the dealership the day the car was bought new! As you pour through these documents, ou'll realize that this one came from the factory with the same options you would have ordered yourself. It's a Strato-Bucket seat car in ivory vinyl. In between this is a center console for the automatic transmission that also houses the clock that's still ticking away. Does it seem like the carpets, eadliner, nd door cards are immaculate? Well that's because everything was meticulously restored back to factory standards. Even the AM radio still lives in the center of the dash, ecause let's face it, ou're buying this car because of originality, ot the sound system. Even the trunk is expertly finished with the correct mat, olor-matched spare wheel, nd a never used redline tire for show.1966 was the year that Chevelle Super Sports really started to live up to their name. No longer just an appearance package, S meant you were getting the big 396 cubic-inch V8. In a car this original, othing but a number-matching engine will do. In fact, hen the current owner found that it had the right motor but the wrong parts, e spent over a year having it rebuilt to the correct original standards. He even tracked down a factory Holley carburetor with a date code that would correspond to this engine's build date. Today there are only about 30 miles on the V8 since its retro-restoration. In a big-block motor like this one, econditioning to factory standards doesn't means giving up performance.
