Description of 1947 Chevrolet Fleetmaster 85 Coupe |
I bought this car from a local guy a few months back with the intention of redoing the paint and bodywork but have found another project that I want to work on. This is a good running and driving and stopping car. The previous owner had it for approx. 10 years and spent quite a bit of money building it. A local mechanic rebuilt a chevy 350 motor and installed it. It has a 700r Tranny the interior was done in an old school tweed and it looks great yet The front seats are faded but the back seat and door panels look great. This car has made annual trips to crusin the coast in Mississippi without any mishaps. It is a great highway car or just a local cruiser. The glass looks good. It currently has a set of s10 rims with Michelin tires and could use a new set of moons or whatever your taste is. This is a good base to start with to drive and enjoy and work on as you want to. As mentioned above there is a good bit of body filler under the paint and rust bubbles here and there. The floor pans have rust in them and will need replacing at some point. The paint has a nice shine and a lot of metallic in it that sparkles. It is not a show car shine but a driver and cruiser shine. It does have power windows and a lowered suspension. All and all a fun car. Since Alabama is not a title state for these old cars you will get a current registration in order to title and register it in your state.
