Description of 1947 Chevrolet Fleetmaster Coupe |
Classic American Street Rod Modern custom with old-school hot rod look. ....very reliable 6,000 miles on engine/transmission Built early 2000s from rust-free car in same family for 39 years.
Appeared in Street Scene (NSRA member magazine) November 2004 Page 98 305 Chevrolet ('78 Camaro) engine - .030 over done by pro builder in Windsor Locks CT. (Tech info supplied by prior owner/builder.) Approx 5,000 miles on engine at time of delivery to me 11/17/13. I have put on 1,000 miles. Following info was supplied by prior owner/builder. Edelbrock Performer 4bbl intake 600 Holley carburetor (new rebuild kit) Early 70s Chevelle (non-Posi) 2:73 rear gears Early Camaro Th350 trans Mustang II (new) front end with power rack ('74-78 model) w/front disk brakes Wheels are early Camaro, rear 80s Monte Carlo Rally-type, according to builder Color is VW "Tabasco" 3 coats, 3000 grit wet sanded. Note color shifts in very bright sun. Also note hand-applied, old-school pinstriping (Don Mooney). Has directionals (Chevy). Upholstery hand-made custom upholstery not seat covers. Power steering. Tilt wheel. Grant wood steering wheel, CD stereo radio, modern gauges (tach, oil pressure, temp, voltage). Speedometer is right on. Known deficiencies: Driver window has a diagonal hairline crack and interior door handle is missing. Mostly 12V, but some 6V items, such as fuel sender and dash lights do not always work. Speedometer is right on. Wipers are original vacuum and a bit on the soft side. Paint starting to bubble on driver door down low (easy fix I am told for a body man). Comes with about a third of a gallon of the original "Tabasco" red paint with the mix code, including a new aerosol touch-up can of that same, original paint (not a 'matching' aftermarket acrylic). No heat/AC. This is a reliable driver, not a trailer queen. Cruises effortlessly at 65mph. Also have a few extra pieces, notably the rare, original, under-passenger-seat heater fan (currently out of the car). Email with questions. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY AFTER BANK CASHIER'S CHECK CLEARS, AND MONEY IS TRANSFERRED TO MY ACCOUNT or CASH. Deposit is non-refundable.At that point, I can hand over or send the signed transferable registration and NYS bill of sale documents.30 miles south of Albany NY. Easy directions and truck access. |
