Description of 1967 Chevrolet Camaro |
OVERVIEW: Welcome. Up for sale is my 1967 Chevrolet Camaro 2 Door Hardtop. This Camaro is a base V8 model (not an RS or SS), riginally equipped from the factory with a 327 V8 engine (210 bhp 2bbl) and a Powerglide (2 speed) automatic transmission. This is a real A/C (air conditioning) car, hich is fairly rare for a '67 Camaro. This Camaro also came from the factory with a console (missing when I bought it), ilt steering wheel (rare option), olding rear seat (also a rare option), nd deluxe seat belts. The original color was Marina Blue (code F) without a vinyl roof and a standard blue interior. I bought this Camaro a year and a half ago from a private seller in Northern Florida, nd I have not found the time to do much to it except acquire some needed/better parts and disassemble it in preparation for restoration. I am currently juggling multiple projects, o it is time to sell a few and prioritize. Therefore, y reason for sale. CLEAN PA TITLE IN HAND, N MY NAME, ND READY TO TRANSFER TO THE NEW OWNER. VIN MATCHES TITLE AND SECRET NUMBERS (VERIFIED BY STATE POLICE UPON ENTRY TO PA FROM FL), O ALTERATIONS TO VIN OR BODY TAG RIVETS. AGAIN, RIGINAL VIN PLATE AND BODY TAG HAVE NEVER BEEN REMOVED. NO THIS WAS NOT A 6 CYLINDER CAR; IT IS A REAL V8 AIR CONSOLE CAR. NO RESERVE. MY STARTING BID IS ABOUT HALF OF WHAT I HAVE IN THIS CAMARO AS IT SITS, O THIS COULD BE A GREAT BUY FOR SOMEONE. IT IS JUST SITTING IN MY YARD AND NEEDS TO FIND A NEW HOME BEFORE ANOTHER PA WINTER HITS. DRIVETRAIN: This Camaro currently has no engine or transmission. It was missing when I purchased it. No engine or transmission is included with this Camaro/this auction. Again, his Camaro was originally equipped with a 327 V8 and a Powerglide automatic transmission, ut presently there is NO ENGINE OR TRANS. The axle is a 3.42 posi from a 1980s GM coupe, er the previous owner. BODY/SHEETMETAL: The body has all original sheetmetal, ut as with first gens even in the South or West, hey liked to rust quickly and severely. Considering that the sheetmetal is original (and not rusted through a second life as many already are in the Northeast), t is fairly good, ut I would replace over repair. All metal is easily available from a wide array of sources and is quite reasonable (compared to the cost of restoring most classic muscle cars). Used pieces are also plentiful. The metal needing replacement or repair is: full quarters and full floor. The floors are shot in the front and rear pans. Also, he car had rusted '68 front fenders not worth fixing (scrapped) and a busted up'67 RS grille (pitched) when I bought it, o you will need to decide whether to go stock steel, iberglass or ? for your front clip. Again, o front clip other than the hood I am including (a decent original GM stock flat hood) is present/included. I am also including a solid rear trunk decklid (believed to be older repo.; the one on the car was shot and therefore scrapped). The original trunk floor is better than most and could be repaired, r just put in a new trunk pan, he choice is yours... The roof is better than most project cars I've seen in this region, elped by its lack of a vinyl roof and spending its' life in Florida, ot PA, ut it still needs some help. The main areas of rust through should be addressed by new FULL quarters. It will still need repair in the common rot areas around the rear window and will need new metal around where the trunk lip is/weatherstripping sits. The firewall and cowl areas are amazingly solid and will need little repair. Even the original rockers are quite solid. The original doors are also solid, ith only minor rot on the edges/bottoms, ery usuable in my opinion. MISC.: The car had no bumpers when I bought it and none are included. The taillights were junk, ut I am including a decent original pair I bought for it. The car has four original steel wheels, ut the tires are junk, s you'd expect on a car that has been sitting so long. The original gas tank is present and should be fine. All brakes will need gone over, ut I would convert to disc anyhow when restoring. FRAME/SUBFRAME: The front subframe and rear subframe are super solid with no rust through or rot. In fact, here is scarcely any surface rust, s most areas still have the factory undercoating. I have carefully examined the frame and included photos showing how solid it indeed is. I have been burned twice on eBay with classic projects with so-called "solid" frames that I could put my hand through areas of rot in the frame rails on (after driving 7-8 hours one way), o I can assure you I would never inflict such deceit on anyone. Don't get me wrong that this Camaro is a major project car, eeding extensive work in every aspect and area, ut at least you do not have any frame work to do, nless you wish to strengthen it for a drag car! INTERIOR: The original interior is shot/in varying states of disrepair, s the photos show. Very little is usable or any good with the interior. The Florida sun/weather was not kind to the interior, or was 20+ years of storage. If you plan to make the interior correct/original, ou will need just about everything. If you are planning a custom interior or rollcage (drag or modified car), hen the poor condition of the original interior should matter very little to you. If you seek to make the interior showroom, hen plan on buying all new or quality used. GLASS: The windshield was broken and cracked, o I threw it away. You will need to buy a new or used windshield for it. The passenger's side vent window glass was broken (discarded) and will need replaced. I removed the rear window and put it inside to prevent damage; it will be given to the winning bidder. All other glass is present and in fair condition. PAYMENT/PICKUP: A $500 non-refundable deposit (refunded at my sole discretion if an emergency situation arises, r we agree that I unintentionally missed a serious flaw with the car. No refunds for cold feet or poor planning on the buyer's part. It is not free to list a vehicle on eBay, or is the time it sits off the market for a non-serious bidder) will be made within 48 hours of auction close and the remaining balance of the final bid price by cash in person, o exceptions. I will not hand over the car or title for a check, ven a cashier's check, o please do not ask. Cash in person is the only form of payment I will accept, s there are too many scams and risks with other payment forms (sorry to all the fellow honest car guys). The winning bidder agrees by bidding that they are willing to come pick up the car, ay cash, nd go to the notary. NO OPEN TITLE, S THIS IS ILLEGAL IN PA. I WILL NOT SELL THE CAR WITHOUT A NOTARY ACKNOWLEDGING THE SALE. For my protection and yours, he title will be transferred the day of pickup/final sale if you are a PA resident or witnessed and notarized for you to take to your DMV/local notary if you are an out of state resident, o exceptions. The car is to be picked up within 14 days from the close of the auction, ut I am understanding to unforeseen events, nd I will be accommodating within reason. I will not ship the car with a second party shipper. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY UNLESS I AGREE TO OTHER ARRANGEMENTS PRIOR TO THE CLOSE OF THE AUCTION. I can assist with loading the car, nd I can give you information on reasonable transport of the car if you are local to me (200 mile radius). GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR AN ICONIC, IRST YEAR, MERICAN PONY CAR, HE 1967 CHEVY CAMARO. BUILD IT THE WAY YOU WANT IT. MILD OR WILD ENGINE, IG OR SMALL BLOCK. CHOOSE YOUR OWN COLORS, RANNY ETC. STOCK, ODIFIED, R DRAG. CLEAN TITLE AND SOLID FRAME MAKES THIS AN ATTRACTIVE OPPORTUNITY WITH NO RESERVE! BID TO WIN. PLEASE ASK ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE BEFORE BIDDING, S I INTEND TO FAIRLY AND ACCURATELY REPRESENT MY CAR. GREAT PROJECT. THESE CAMAROS ARE HARDER AND HARDER TO FIND, SPECIALLY AT THIS PRICE POINT UNLESS BEYOND REPAIR, O PLEASE DO NOT MISS OUT. GOOD LUCK BIDDING! |
