Description of 19640000 Chevrolet El Camino |
Finished in Grey over Red, his 1964 Chevrolet El Camino is the recipient of a 15 year-old frame off restoration that has been shown and garage kept since. For the Chevy collector, his example shows nicely and has a numbers matching driveline with a pretty rare engine option. In 1964, nly 1,737 327/300 HP motors were installed in Chevrolet cars and most were installed in Chevelles. It's estimated that less than 50 were put into El Caminos. This El Camino features its original 327/300 HP engine with stamping matching the engine number in the Owner Protection Plan book. The engine was assembled on May 8th, nd the car itself was built in the third week of May. The engine has the correct exhaust manifolds, eads, ntake and carb as well. We have the factory air cleaner for it as well as the factory front springs. The car is also equipped with the original 4-speed transmission, 80 positraction 3:31 rear end, ench seat, nd AM/FM AC Delco radio. It also has factory power steering and dealer installed A/C that blows ice cold. The Chevrolet has a base clear paint job, nd features restored original trim and new chrome on the bumpers. During the restoration, he body was taken down to bare metal as was the frame. The car received new rubber at the time of the restoration as well. The front and side windows are original and in good condition and the rear window has been replaced. The El Camino is a wonderful driving car that has a nice and pure factory feel to it. On our test drive, t ran a cool 180 degrees with the air conditioning blowing nice and cold the entire time. All of the gauges work correctly as well as all of the lights and signals. A modern stereo has been added to the glove box with box speakers behind the bench seat. It sounds great and keeps the integrity of the dash intact. If you're in the market for an early El Camino to drive or show, ook no further! |
