Description of 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS Convertible

This is a Pro-touring dream. You're looking at a 1967 Chevy Camaro RS Convertible complete part by part restoration. This car was the 52,323rd Camaro ever to roll off the Norwood assembly line.

Nice lines don't come easy. Starting with a complete tear down, his car underwent meticulous scrutiny. The body panels are all original. The rear wells were mini-tubbed before the body was mated with a new skeleton.

Dale Schwartz provided his G-Machine High Performance 1-piece chassis with side exhaust cutouts. This chassis is incredibly strong while weighing less than the stock front/rear sections. 4 Chrome coilover springs over the shocks are all independently adjustable for track racing. The Rear end is a Winters 9"Aluminum center section with 3.7:1 gearing. The chassis is finished in Black powder coat, hile the suspension parts and rear-end housing are powder coated Silver. This train is finished with a Corvette Z06 Clutch, nd a Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission with Dodge Viper internals for added strength. Put this on a lift and see how clean and detailed this machine is.

The brakes start with a Hydroboost system from Hydratech. This flows to Wilwood 6-piston black calipers in the front, nd Wilwood 4-piston calipers in the rear. All with Dynalite pads. They sit on 13"x 1.25"cross-drilled rotors in the front, nd 13"x .81"cross-drilled rotors in the rear.

The Engine is General Motors LS376. GM took a stock LS3 engine from the Corvette, nd added an aggressive Cam to bump the power up to 480HP out of the crate. A custom high flow air intake feeds this beast, nd a BeCool radiator with 2 electric fans keeps it cold.

Once the engine was married to the chassis, t was rolled over to Kooks Headers for a completely custom high flowing exhaust system, ith large 2"x 3"headers and large pipes that exit out the sides in front of the rear wheels.

A stainless steel fuel cell from Detroit Speed feeds the LS376.Jannetty Racing tuned and Dyno tested the engine. 437HP at the wheels.

So how about those lines? Countless hours poured into matching the power with beauty. At the front is a chrome bumper with a Chrome RS grill matching to the hideaway headlights from Detroit Speed. The paint is a custom metallic flake Gold and those Black stripes are painted on underneath the many clear coats. (unlike original GM striping).

Does that hood look familiar? Not on a Camaro it doesn't. This concept was borrowed from the Corvette Stingray. Underneath the hood, he engine covers panels are painted to match the outside. At the back is also a chrome bumper. Let everyone know to keep their distance with the LED sequential taillights.

Michelin 315/30ZR18 Pilot Sport PS2 tires. Up front are 245/35ZR18 Pilot Sport PS2's. These are wrapped around Budnik Driver Series Four-Thirty wheels.

Inside looks mostly stock with a few upgrades. Under the upholstery, he entire interior was wrapped in Dynamat Xtreme to prevent unwanted road noise. Autometer Phantom II guages: Tach, peedo, ater temp, il pressure, olts, nd Fuel. This Camaro cranks up with Push button ignition sitting on the center dash. 4 power windows with switches in the center console. An Alpine sound system rounds out the interior, omplete with component Tweeter and mid-range speakers in the kick panels, onnected to crossovers. In the back-side panels are 2 more full-range speakers. The power Trunk release reveals custom housings for the amplifier and Optima Yellow-top battery, nd a single custom box with 12" sub. Audio system is wired with Monster Cable.
