Description of 1955 Chevrolet 2nd Series Task Force 2nd Series Task Force

HISTORY: I bought this truck from the 50 year old grand son of the original owner. He said that his grand father bought it new locally (near Gardner Kansas). He drove and maintained it for years including a brush paint job in the 60s(now wearing thin) with paint mixed to the original formula. He then gave it to his son. When finished with it his son passed it on to his son. I bought it from the grandson last year. As an engineer at Garmin the grandson did a lot of work on it several years ago including rebuilding the front end and brakes, epairing the radio(just hums now), recovered sea, ew stainless steel gas tank, tc.. When I bought it, t was stored in the family's old dairy barn where it had been sitting for about 3 years.

WORK JUST COMPLETED: My mechanic replaced all wheel brake cylinders and the master brake cylinder. The brakes are very good and stop straight. He flushed the gas and rebuilt the carburetor and adjusted the lifters. It couldn't run or sound any better! I just welded in new rear cab corners. They fit well.

CONDITION: The truck starts up and runs very well. The lights all work including the cute little green light in the tip of the vintage accessory turn signal lever. The radio was working but just hums now. All gauges work but the needle has fallen off the speedometer. The odometer still works and has surely turned over 100K. I'm not sure of the gas gauge because I have only put a few gallons in at a time. It has no smoke or knocks, hifts well, nd goes down the road well except for some play in the steering gear. The glass is good original except the windshield has bubbles in the right lower corner and the drivers vent window has a crack. I have pictured the rust in photos the best I can. It was mostly parked inside but these old trucks trapped mud and most had some rust. The floors feel solid. I tried to show you the worst of the rust in the pictures.

CONCLUSION: This is a fun old truck that can be driven and enjoyed as is or restored. It has a great family history, s good mechanically, nd has less rust than most unrestored trucks it's age. It should be lots of fun plus a great blue chip investment! I won't sell it before the auction closes but feel free to call, ext, r email with questions. The buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping. We have sold cars to many places across the US, urope, nd Australia and still have a 100% rating. Thanks for looking!! Jon 620-224-3437
