Description of 1966 Chevrolet Corvette |
Listing my 1966 big block 427 vette originally a 427/390hp. I bought this car 1997, mazing how time flies, ut now as my fiancée and I are starting a family it's time to part ways with the car. I am putting no reserve on the car; I hope someone has as much fun as I have had with this beast! All the parts listed (like suspension) have been done with less than 500 miles driven since they were installed. You can see it has the 67 stinger hood on it and a wide body; these were done long before I had the car. I don't have any extra parts besides what is on the car and listed. Detail time. The engine was freshly built last year. All the engine components have less than 300 miles of use. The engine was dialed in on a chassis dyno for air fuel ratio after the rebuild. The engine is wild, ake no doubt about it! I wanted to keep the spirit of the 427 (high revving all engine) and replicate the performance of the old L88 style engine. It makes right around 600 crank HP at 6500 RPM, uilt by Midstate Machine in Des Moines. The car runs on E85 ethanol currently, love E85 - cheap fuel at the pump that can support a ton of compression! All the parts that run E85 can also run gas, ou would just have to rejet the carb, e sure to do that and monitor the A/F ratio if you switch back to gas! Here are the engine details: · Block is a G 5 8, o it's a 1969 4 bolt. · Transmission is a M22 rockcrusher, ase is 71-74 date. Internal gears are newly replaced. · Centerforce clutch. Blow proof bell housing. · Rear differential has new Richmond gears and hardened side yokes. 3.70 . · Lunati forged crankshaft. · Custom Ross Racing pistons. · Manley H beam rods. · Edelbrock performer RPM rectangular heads with matched air gap intake. · 825cfm custom holly carb for E85. ½" fuel lines with all 8 AN fittings. · Holly black fuel pump. · Matched comp cams custom grind hydraulic camshaft with their short travel hydraulic roller lifters and matched valve springs.Cam has .620 lift and duration @.050 is 248, 56. · Hooker Super Competition Sidemount Headers 2233HKR with 4" side pipes, hrome. Spiral Turbo Specialties baffles mounted in the side pipes. The headers are 2 1/8" primary tube diameter. We tried several others, ut they allkilledthepower on the dyno. These were the only ones we could find that had enough flow. · Be Cool aluminum radiator and fans. Meziere electric water pump. · MSD distributor and ignition with tach drive. · Right around 12:1 compression, 85 ethanol compatible fuel pump and lines. Stainless Steel Brake Company C2 kit with polished 4 piston calipers and slotted rotors. The main wiring harness is new, teering box is rebuilt. Centerline wheels, ronts are Eagle GSC 255/45R17, ear Nitto NT555R Tire 315/35R17 drag radials. The Nittos are well balanced for the car, ith a rolling start they generally spin just a bit before grabbing tight. Offset rear trailing arms, id America Motorworks Performance Suspension Kit - Stage 4 - that includes 360lb composite rear monospring, ront coils, listein shocks, eavy duty adjustable strut rods and tie rod tubes along with polyurethane bushings. Also has the aluminum upper control arm upgrade. The interior is in good shape. It has the original AM/FM radio. It worked fine, ut we disconnected it a few years ago, t should work just fine but I can't guarantee since I have not tested it recently. Headlights raise and work. The heater core no longer fits, o it's gone. The paint has a great shine and looks good from 10ft away, ut there are many cracks and chips and spots on various places over the car. I tried to photograph examples the best I could. A paint job was always on my list, ut never happened. The windshield has a crack; it has been drilled and filled so it won't spread and is in the upper tinted part of the windshield. The rear spring cushion is cracking and will need replacement eventually. The emergency brake was removed before I got the car. Overall the car is a blast to drive and is truly unique. I am starting the auction low enough that you can make the car however you want, eep it as is, r new add paint or customize it however you desire! Almost all of the engine, uspension and driveline has very little use, s I said less than 500 miles. Feel free to ask me questions, he car is available for inspection if anyone is in central Iowa, t's at Mike's Corvette and Auto in Carlisle Iowa, ike has done a lot of the work on the car and has a lift there so you can inspect under the car if desired. No trades please. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping, ut I am happy to work with you. I have never shipped a car before, ut I have a few friends that swear by Reliable Shipping. The last car he had shipped was $1,100 for 1200 miles and it was an enclosed semi-truck door-to-door although he did say there were cheaper options, f course the buyer is welcome to use whomever they like, just thought I would share that experience. I have had this car almost 19 years; I want to make sure everything goes well! Remember, his is no reserve, lease don't bid if you are not prepared to buy the car, et's make this a great experience for everyone. |
