Description of 1985 Chevrolet Corvette 4 Speed Manual Removable Hardtop |
Beautiful, lmost 25 year second owner, tock and original, ell-maintained, abied, erfectly running and driving 1985 Corvette Hardtop with the desirable Doug Nash 4+3 manual transmission with overdrive and a great ownership history. I'm the Ebay go-to guy among my circle of friends so I'm selling it for a friend of a friend. He bought it for his wife in January of 1991 when it only had 31,134 miles on it. Since then it has been brought out in nice weather only and currently has 69,533 miles. It just isn't getting used enough for her to justify keeping it any longer. Interesting piece of trivia - Theoriginal owner was one of the founders of Iomega (inventors of the Zip drive).it was his pride and joy until Iomega hit it big and he bought an open-wheel Maserati. The running gear is excellent with zero issues. It runs and drives as if it is almost new. It's all completely stock and original with regular maintenance and it clearly shows. Tires are new with less than 1,000 miles on them. And 1985 was the first year of the much more desirable Tuned-Port Fuel Injection L98 Small Block engine which Corvettes used until 1991. It had much more power and reliability than the Cross-Fire Fuel Injection engine it replaced. The Doug Nash 4 Speed ManualTransmissionwith Overdrive in the top 3 gears shifts perfectly. The interior is equally excellent with minimal wear. Leather surfaces are in very good condition and carpet has almost no wear and minimal spotting (see pics). Everything in the cabin works properly other than the AC which needs to be recharged. One of the plastic trim pieces adjacent to the rear hatchback latch is cracked (see pics). It doesn't affect anything and isn't noticeable when the hatch is closed. Digital dash is very cool and works perfectly. The body is accident free and the paint is original and still in excellent condition. All body panels are perfect and line up properly. There is some light fading on the rear bumper and one small section of scratched paint on the top of the front bumper (see pics). It's a beautiful shade of blue and the pictures simply don't do the car justice. Not only is this Corvette a wonderful and practical regular driver as far as collectible cars go, t is now officially a classic as defined by the 25 Year Rule. As C3 Corvettes (1968-1982) have increased in value, he prices of C4's like this one have started to climb. Additionally, t would be a wonderful Preservation Class vehicle due to its near-perfect factory condition, ow mileage, nd 100% paint originality (Preservation Class requires 80% original paint). My hope is it goes to someone who understands this and keeps it in its current, ristine condition. Just my two cents. My name is Chris and I am happy to answer your questions. Please call me at 435-669-1470. I also have almost 200 pictures that show every nook and cranny in great detail (including undercarriage shots). Send me your email address and I'll get them to you. As I said, t is ready to enjoy today so you may want to consider flying in and driving home. That would be a fun adventure and I'd be happy to help facilitate it. This beautiful 1985 Corvette Hardtop with 4 speed manual transmission is located in the dry, esert community of Beaver Dam, rizona (about 92 miles north of Las Vegas). Good luck and good bidding. |
