Description of 1972 Chevrolet C-10

Up for sale is my 72' C10. Truck was my dad's for the last 10 years . He kept in his heated garage and used it as a weekend toy here and there. I purchased the truck from him this past Spring as he was relocating and couldn't take it with him. The truck originally came from the Nevada desert and is very dry considering the issues these trucks usually have. especially in the Northeast. The truck has a stack of Nevada Air Base stickers on the front bumper where the original owner worked for his entire career. Very cool stuff. I took the truck and went through the brakes and other misc things it needed like a glove box insert and a new fuel sending unit. All the electrical works as it should except for the backup lights. Back in the Spring I had a friends transmission shop completely rebuild the original 3 speed Saginaw gearbox. It works perfectly. Shifts nice and maintains the original 3 on the Tree setup. Clutch is obviously new. Maybe 2k miles on it. Back in June the original 307 tossed the timing chain and I took this opportunity to install a gorgeous 327 small block that my Dad had rebuilt several years back that was sitting on an engine stand in his garage. I had a local speed shop do the swap and completely go through the entire engine compartment. It's been repainted and sets up a beautiful backdrop for the new motor. The entire build sheet of this motor is shown below. I can't express how perfectly this thing runs. and it goes like crazy! The builder estimated it to be pushing over 300hp. The exhaust is new but was cut short in front of the axle because I was waiting on delivery of the new rear bumper that sports the dual cut-outs. I never had the exhaust completely finished to the bumper. but the current setup in no way affects performance. Everything under the hood is new. Mechanically the truck needs nothing. New radiator. New water pump. New Alternator. New High Torque Starter. You get the idea. I would drive this truck anywhere. It starts up the instant you turn the key and runs cool and smooth as it should. I would get in this truck today and drive it to California and back. Engine has 1500 miles on it so its as fresh as can be but also has enough miles on it that all the adjustments have been made and bugs worked out. It has had 2 oil changes since the installation. No BS here. The entire suspension was also completely redone and professionally installed. I chose a 4/6 kit from Early Classic Restoration and Suspension. It has new everything underneath and handles like a new car. Perfectly aligned and you can cruise with 1 finger on the steering wheel. Not much more to say here other than I chose the most recommended kit from Early Classic. The wheels are polished aluminum 20" Centerlines. They are pretty nice. They have a few tiny curb rash marks but nothing detracting from the overall look of this truck. The tires are also pretty new. Plenty of life left. If you sat with some polish these wheels would look amazing! More than they already do. The body of the truck is extremely solid. In the pics you will see the misc rust areas which are down low on the body in the usual areas. It's minimal and in no way hurts the integrity of the truck. The bed is gorgeous. The floor of the bed is perfectly solid. There are no big dents or even the slightest rust holes. Try finding that in the Northeast. Especially NH! The cab is also in very good condition. The floors are very solid. The only rust is surface and again doesn't hurt the integrity of the truck. I tried to show the details in the pics. The driver side of the bench seat is worn. hence the seat cover. Its not bad where its uncomfortable or causes you to sit funny. it's just ripped. The heat. defroster and fan all works and is actually quite warm. The biggest drawback to this truck is the door window trim and felt. It's worn and needs replacing. The desert sun took its toll here. It's not like it leaks like crazy or makes anything unusable but its worn and looks shitty. The windshield rubber is also crappy. Dash pad has the typical sun beaten cracks as well. The truck has an old repaint on it of the original color but still rocks a pretty awesome patina look. The truck turns heads like crazy. Some people want to know when I'm repainting it. while others are like "dude you mustn't repaint this. it's freakin' awesome"! That will be your call as the new owner. I personally dig the patina look. The engine is out of a 1967 Caprice Classic. It's actually from a car that my dad owned when we were kids. Like stated earlier. he had it rebuilt a few years ago. I have the receipt in hand and it will go with the truck. Here are some highlights.
