Description of 1980 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray |
Here for sale with clear title and VIN # available is this 1980 Corvette with 52,886 original miles. Straight with No rust and you better hang on when you hit the gas because it puts your right back into the comfy bucket seats. Has the famous 350 engine with auto automatic transmission. Starts good and quick. Was bought from the long time 2nd owner in NY with some collector farm tractors we bought from them so after all these years of being well taken care of it is looking for a new home. He had owned it since 1990 which is reflected on the title that comes with it to be signed over to the new owner. Original engine and all drives and runs good. Electric windows do work too. It is a T-Top Convertible Sunroof and the mirrored glass optional roof panels are shown in one pictures with some water still on them after we washed them off but they are both in nice shape. We just had a $250 detailing on this Corvette too including shampooing all the carpet areas inside. SEE VIDEO at top: You'll see in a part of the video where I re-started the camera the moment I took off from a stop sign and when I say BOOM that is how long it took me to get to 55 mph. If you look at the video time this was from the 1:36 to 1:44 time marker so basically 8 seconds. This car has some definite pickup. In the entire video I'm steering with one hand and have the camera in the other. The sun glare and camera doesn't show some things well and those areas with glare look all good in person. VIDEO UPDATE Jan. 18th: Someone asked to see a video showing the exhaust at startup. So we did shoot a video yesterday showing the exhaust in full view and this was the first time it was started in a week at this link: https://youtu.be/zIK4WwEiM8c I noticed today the gauges all work but the clock. Wipers and lights, linkers, tc. work and the headlights were going down the other day but don't now after the detailing so maybe a fuse blew? I'll put a picture above before we detailed it showing the lights closed. Also the radio doesn't seem to work unless I'm doing something wrong or needs a fuse. We had someone test drive it today and said the engine was real solid on it and strong. Great action. He said at high speeds it seems like it needs a balance and alignment and that was his only mention. I imagine it hasn't had a balance or alignment in 10 or more years. He would replace the upholstery someday he said if it was his car. The seats do have a couple cracks in them as the video will show and the steering wheel has some cracks which the other pictures probably showed. Brakes were good. Tire tread on all 4 tires ranges between 5/32nds and 7/32nds. The undercarriage looked all real good to me and I took several pictures underneath and no rust. We got the AutoCheck / CarFax report on this car recently and it passed with flying colors. No accidents, tc. and this is just a two owner car. Odometer mileage is verified too as it was recorded for emission test. It was bought by the 2nd owner back in 1990 from the original owner. And the title we have was issued in 1990 so that totally checks out. I can email anyone a copy of this report and all the undercarriage photos I took showing no rust. According to statistics I looked up this is the Dark Claret Metallic color and 3,451 were produced in this nice shade so not nearly as many as say the Black or White color of which they made over 7,000 in each of those exterior colors. This classic car will just appreciate and get more valuable the longer you own it and what other car can you say that as any new or regular car depreciates by 1/3rd the minute you drive it off the lot. Also will trade for older farm tractors like John Deere and others or old farm or tractor signs, TV's or Gators, tc.. If you are out of state I know some delivery services that on long distances will haul this insured for .50 to $1/mile like 500 miles = $300-$400 for example. Or drive it home yourself. For comparison look at this same 1980 Corvette in Burgandy, uto, tc. and priced at $14,900 which they say in their ad that price is over $2,000 below average for 1980 Corvette. And this one they are selling has over 69,000 miles compared to 52,886 on ours. Link: carsforsale.com/vehicle/details/480625 Ours is priced basically at -$5,000 less at only $9,000. And ours has over -16,000 fewer miles and has just had two verified owners. Call me if any questions or interest to Robert at The Tractor Barn, nc. 512-573-8359 |
