THE MISSION If your goal is to own a one of a kind dream machine guaranteed to stop traffic, ook no further. Built by GodSpeed Rides in Sarasota, lorida, he plan was set to build a resto mod with no boundaries…one with attention to detail like no other, ne that would set the bar to new levels and carve out one of the most detailed 63 Split Window Corvette ever constructed. THE PLATFORM The platform had to be special for this project and there was no question, he bones of this project would be the 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split window coupe…the "Holy Grail" of the Corvette family and GM’s perfect example of style and performance. This particular example had humble beginnings with a small block, ower glide transmission, ower windows, nd power drum brakes. A body with only slight damage to the front driver fender. It seemed fitting the beginnings would be simple to make the transformation into an over the top build. Other than the body, very part installed on this vehicle from motor, o brakes, o transmission, o every nut and bolt is new....everything. THE DESIGN With a name like “The Punisher,” this project needed to look like it meant business with aggressive styling and stance. Designer Mark Pierson and his team at GodSpeed Rides wanted this creation to look as if it could take on any vehicle on the planet. The "industrial resto mod" theme was cultivated by a mixture of satin black, illet aluminum, nd stainless steel with a perfect mixture of the right colors. Socket head bolts carry the theme throughout the inside and outside of the vehicle providing a retro modern flare. This vehicle features many one off billet pieces specially machined for this project. THE DETAILS The builder’s trademark is simple, lean and sanitary. Every part of this vehicle…inside the cabin, nder the hood, ody, rame, nd every system was held to the same standard of excellence. Hide every wire possible, ll fluid lines run with perfection, eep as many wires and hoses hidden as possible. Two years and 2500 hours were spent building this retro themed Corvette, ut together with some of the best talent in automotive building and the best parts available. No compromise. THE BODY If you like sharp lines check out this body…laser straight lines show the over 1000 hours spent in massaging this body into a work of art. Dwayne Brown is so skilled at perfecting fiberglass the lines are sharp because he knows how to make a perfect line and it shows. The body is all original fiberglass and panels except for the 1.5” widened rear quarters necessary to accommodate the 345/25-20 rear tires. The rear lower valance has been smoothed and molded for a seamless body. A slightly raised license plate cut out, ne off billet taillight bezels, nd a custom aluminum exhaust treatment, ake the rear of this Corvette look like a million dollar supercar. LED and HID help to give the front end a more modern element with a blacked out grill and LED turn signals. Countless hours were spent tucking and narrowing the front and rear bumpers to fit the body like a glove…the edges on the bumpers are just as sharp as the body. The details on this car do not stop, own to the custom black door handles with rivets matching the theme. Designed by GodSpeed Rides, he side rockers finish the side of the vehicle off with tasteful enhancement. The one off billet aluminum hood trays were a result of months of thought and design to create the perfect replacement to the trademark 63 Corvette trays. ENGINE COMPARTMENT In a no compromise build like this, he engine compartment deserves respect. Who doesn’t want to open up the hood of a high end vehicle and see the beauty of power. Pop open the black anodized billet aluminum hood latches, aise the hood, nd right off the bat you find yourself staring at one of the cleanest engine compartments you have ever seen. The firewall is smooth and void of all contours of the original. Countless hours were spent hand fabricating both inner fenders to hide all suspension components. The underside of the hood is finished to perfection and is painted in the same quality as the body of the car. Nestled right in the middle is a brand new LS3 crate motor courtesy of GM performance. 525HP of pure power lies within. Barely a wire is seen as you open the hood. All A/C, rake, nd heater lines piped in and meticulously routed via AN fittings. A one off radiator support was constructed to house the oversized DeWitt radiator with twin fans. The headlight and wiper motor is courtesy of Detroit Speed for modern operation. ABS brake master cylinder, illet aluminum hydraulic clutch reservoir, nd Resto Mod air, ulkhead a/c and heater fitting decorate the firewall. If this wasn’t enough, wo easily removable inner fender panels allow access to the AGM battery and the high pressure brake pump. Beautiful polished stainless steel headers by Ultimate travel into a 2.5 inch stainless exhaust, hich in and of itself is a work of art. FRAME AND SUSPENSION At the center of the car’s frame is a Tremec 6-speed spinning, custom aluminum driveshaft and a currie rear end. The SRIII chassis provides the main frame of this over the top street machine with using all Corvette C6 components. Monster 14” Wildwood brakes provide all the stopping power this high performance machine could require. Obviously no dream machine like this could go without the best shoes. One off custom wheels built by Nutek wheels……19x9 and 20x13 handle the Nito Invo rubber…….let’s just say the 345.25-20 rear tires even made a Dodge Viper jealous. THE INTERIOR Open the doors and you’ll be greeted by a completely custom one-off interior done by GodSpeed Rides that is just as unique as the rest of the build...those who see it for the first time just say WOW. What better color to choose than a rich bright red leather to make that often sought for “pop”. A one piece leather top fits perfect and keeps with the clean, o nonsense design of the car. The rear cargo area is something special and all custom fabricated at GodSpeed. All hand formed panels create a unique surrounding with leather, and formed pressed grills, large illuminated ARC 5 channel amplifier in the rear with 8” ARC Subwoofers on either side. The door panels are something special and were also hand fabricated to create a 3 dimensional look with multiple textures. Features include socket head bolts individually threaded into the billet aluminum truss work, and formed pressed grills to house the pair of ARC high end audio speakers, hand formed arm rest, n ultra-cool mixture of colors to tie the interior of the car to the exterior. The dash board was neatly organized to house many crucial components……..the gauges and climate control for the A/C are courtesy of Dakota Digital, Gen IV A/C system by Vintage Air controls the climate, fuse panel by American Autowire is uniquely visible when the glove compartment is opened for easy inspection, ne off A/C vents give just that perfect retro look, enwood wireless Blue Tooth unit streams music directly from your Smart phone, ustom billet aluminum switches control the power windows and locks. What you do not see is the main security system which allows for locking, nlocking of vehicle, uto start, nd GPS tracking via your Smart phone along with monitoring some auto diagnostics. Push button operation of the Estop emergency brake, ingfelter pedals, didit column and Billet Specialty wheel finish the cockpit.
