Up for sale we have a 1955 Chevy Bel Air Two Door Hard Top. This '55 is done in the factory colors of Gypsy Red and India Ivory. The restoration on this car was done about 3 years ago with upgrades like the AC and Rear Disc Brakes being new. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior, interior, and heartbeat of the Chevy, but first we would like to tell you a little about us.
Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned, operated, and own our entire inventory, no consignments, and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 70 to 80 cars at all times. We don't have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So, that's how we can sell for less than other dealers. To contact us for more information, pictures, or any questions call our office at (865)988-8088 or visit our SmokyMountainTraders website.
We will start off with the exterior of the Bel Air. When you walk around this '55 and look down the sides you will see straight panels with good fit. The stainless on the sides lines up good with a good tight fit. It all looks good with it all either being been cleaned or replaced. When you look at the glass it was replaced with the side glass having a light smoke. The seals around the windshield and back glass were replaced along with new weather stripping. When you look at the bumpers they appear to be new as does most of the other chrome. The paint on this Chevy shows well for it being a few years old. It's slick to the touch with good paint in the jams and trunk. To finish off the exterior it's sitting on a new set of 18" and 20" Billet Wheels.
Next, we will take a look at the interior of the '55. On the inside the seats are the factory benches that are covered in the factory style covers that are red vinyl with the cloth inserts. The door panels are done in the same two tone color scheme. When you look at the dash it's painted body color with the radio upgraded to the vintage AM/FM. The Air Condition vents are under the dash to keep from cutting it. Also, a set of aftermarket gauges were added. The steering column was changed to a chrome Tilt with a new 15" stock looking wheel. All the roof rail trim looks good. Chrome top caps were added to the door and around the dash for a nice finishing touch.
Finally, we will take a look at the heartbeat of the Chevy. Under the hood this '55 is powered by a new 350 Crate Engine that's dressed with an Aluminum Intake. Also it has new polished Aluminum Valve covers and Breather. The engine has been fitted with new Shorty Headers and Dual exhaust. It has Aluminum Pulleys and a new Aluminum radiator. The trans is a 700R Overdrive with a stock rear end. It has new Power Steering and Four Wheel Power Disc Brakes with a Chrome Booster. The Air Condition is from Vintage Air. And when you look under this Bel Air it looks good with the bottom being cleaned and painted.
