In ’55 Chevy gave a whole new look to its’ car line. It was the first year for the V8 Engine. The impact of the ’55 forever changed the car market. It was and still is one of the most iconic cars ever built. The one we have has had many upgrades from Disc Brakes to A/C. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior. interior. and heartbeat of the Chevy. but first we would like to tell you a little about us. Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned. operated. and own our entire inventory. no consignments. and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 50 to 60 cars at all times. We don’t have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So. that’s how we can sell for less than other dealers. It has a slick laser straight body that is covered in the Gypsy Red Paint that is accented by the Shoreline Beige. When you look in the jams and in the trunk it’s detailed very nice with new weather stripping. At the time of the resto they installed new glass and trim on both sides and a new front and back glass. When you look at the stainless it all looks good and has good fit. A lot of the chrome on this ’55 looks to be new. To finish off the look it’s sitting on a set of 18” and 20” American Racing Wheels. Next. we will take a look at the interior of the Hard Top. On the inside it is done in the stock style with the bench seats. They are covered in the factory color that are vinyl with cloth inserts. It has the deluxe door panels and stock style carpet. When you look at the dash its stock with aftermarket gauges and column mounted tach. The column has been upgraded to a Chrome Tilt with a LeCarra Wheel. The radio was also replaced with a direct fit AM/FM with speakers installed in the kick panels and in the rear window package tray. Finally. we will take a look at the heartbeat of the Chevy. Under the hood it has many upgraded starting with the engine. It’s a 327 V8 that’s dressed with Aluminum Intake and Holley Carb. They added Aluminum Pulleys and an Aluminum Radiator. The exhaust runs through shorty coated headers and flow masters. The trans is a 350 Turbo that’s mated to a 9” Ford Rear End. For options it has Vintage A/C that looks and fits well. Also the brakes are Four Wheel Disc with Drilled and Slotted Rotors. The steering and Brakes are Power. It has front and rear sway bars and the battery has been moved to the trunk to keep under the hood clean. The floor pans are solid with good braces.
