Description of 1971 Chevrolet C-10 C20 PICKUP

This well equipped 1971 3/4 ton long bed Chevy pickup runs and looks great. Always residing in southern California, I purchased it four years ago from the second owner who bought it from the original owner when it was only two years old. After nearly 40 years of ownership, he was only selling it because he was in his mid 70s at the time, and he was moving back east to live with his son and couldn't take it with him! New California license plates were issued when I bought it as prior owner had personalized plates on it.
It was originally Medium Bronze as shown on the Specification tag still on the glove box door, but was repainted a medium brown with slight metallic in it. The body looks very straight and rust free, but there are some small chips in the paint and slight fading toward the center of the hood. The chrome, grill, lights, windows, etc. all look very good. Underside is not detailed, and has some dirt, grime, and minor surface rust just from general use, but is very solid, typical for a life long Southern California truck. While not a show truck, it always generates positive attention and favorable comments when I drive it around.
It runs very smooth and strong with a rebuilt Goodwrench 350 V8, three speed automatic transmission, power brakes (disc on the front), power steering, 4 barrel carb with K&N free flow air filter, headers, flowmaster dual exhaust. It puts out a puff of smoke for the first few seconds at start, then runs clean. I don't know what the actual mileage is, or how many miles are on the engine and drive train as prior owner did not keep those receipts. It steers and brakes well, and shifts quick; I think it may have a shift kit in it. Mileage posted is that shown on the odometer.
Inside features include a customized tweed interior with nice headliner, door panels and seat, three point safety belts, in dash tachometer, and Kenwood am/fm/cd stereo with newer speakers in the doors, I had the bench seat padding re-stuffed, and put a seat cover over the tear-free seat to protect it.Windows and wind wings and rear slider window all work fine. All lights, wipers, heater, horn and gauges work.It has two additional saddle gas tanks and all three tanks work with the factory switch down by the driver's door. Only the main tank operates the fuel gauge. The passenger side tank has a slight leak when it is filled to the top which I haven't fixed yet. All three tanks have locking covers. The chrome aftermarket rear bumper can slide out more for a camper, and it has an LED light strip above it connected to the tail lights. There is a bed liner sprayed in which is covered up by the snap in tonneau cover. Tires are older but have good tread, mounted on a nice set of 8 lug Eagle alloy rims. I always keep it covered and on a battery tender when not in use, and it's been very reliable. Recent service since I've owned it includes oil change and lube, new Interstate battery, new stereo speakers, air filter service, and new seat foam among other items. The radiator and some of the fuel lines were replaced just prior to my purchase.
I hate to sell it, but I bought this to use while I was restoring a similar 1971 Chevy pick up, and now that it's finished this one is for sale, hopefully to a good home!
Feel free to contact me through Ebay with any questions. $1000 deposit due to my Paypal account within 48 hours. Balance due within 3 business days in cash or cashier's check. Title is clear and in my name, and truck won't leave premises until all funds are cleared by my bank. Scammers need not apply. If less than 10 Ebay feedback you must contact me before bidding or I will cancel your bid. I am happy to show the truck to serious buyers before the auction ends, and it is sold without warranty expressed or implied, as while it runs and drives great and has not let me down, it is 45 years old, not a brand new truck! Since I have advertised it elsewhere, I do reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells first. I can store it at no charge for up to a week after auction ends. Buyer can ship at buyer's expense but I'll do what I can to help with shipper pick up (pun intended). Thanks for looking at my auction!
