Barn Find 62 Chevy 409. This car was purchased in 1970 by a local gentleman who has had the car until I purchased it about a year ago.Health issues dictated that he will not be able to drive his baby anymore, and decided to let someone else have the fun.In 1990, he purchased a 409 with the correct date coded block, heads, intake, etc. I don't think this was on purpose, but that is how it worked out. It is a late 61 built car, and a late 61 block, and associated parts. In 1994, the engine was rebuilt the way a Hotrodder of that time period would do it.It has an Engel cam, fender well headers, dual point distributo, two fours, 4speed, electric fuel pump, along with stock pump, original air breather, sw gauges, along with all the receipts and instructions with them. The car was put up in 1997, and was not moved until last summer. It has been in a dry woodworking shop the entire time until I got it. I have since cleaned the fuel tank, replaced the rubber fuel and heater hoses, put a good set of Edelbrock carbs, battery, pulled the oil pan to inspect the insides, and got it running. I can tell you it is super clean inside, has forged pistons, and a main cap girdle, and a very radical cam. The car was born an Impala 2 door hardtop, and not a super sport. It was a 6 cyl., 3 speed car. It still has its original Honduras Maroon paint. The body has a dent on the pass. side, and a rust spot on the pass. door. The car is not perfect, but it is pretty good for its age, and a car like this does not come along very often. I can supply pics and numbers for those interested, and am trying to give as honest description as I can. The price is firm at 20,000.,please,no low ballers or marketing reps. If it doesn't sell, I will keep and drive it. Remember, this car has not been on the road since 1997,so will need the usual brake work, and other associated things. Call Tom at 513-839-1241.
