A killer custom that's featured in multiple publications. this award-winning Chevy wraps a stout 383/3-speed drivetrain in supple ultraleather trim and stunning PPG pigment. If you're looking for an incredible hot rod that's every bit as classy. and twice as cool as a stuffy concours car. this exceptional tri-five is primed. polished and ready to rumble!BODYWORK/TRIMBestowed the Editor's Choice Award at the 2014 Fall Street Machine Nationals. this wicked 210 is the beneficiary of a high quality. frame-off restoration that was completed over the course of six years. After spending decades rolling down the road as a SoCal bowtie. the car's solid body was shipped to Nick Santana at Squirty's Collision Center in Palmdale. California. Thoroughly bead-blasted and completely planar. that fuselage was augmented with fresh chrome. a custom hood. shaved mirrors. a relocated license plate. smoked glass and custom lighting. With test fitting complete. everything was layered in a flowing algorithm of PPG that included Ultra Orange. Pearl White. Lime Green. Candy Red. Candy Blue and Candy Yellow. And. after 600 hours and roughly $25K. this awesome Chevy was ready to be united with a killer powerplant. ENGINEBy now. it's probably pretty obvious this classic was built to be seen. But. thanks to the 383 cubic inch. supercharged V8 under its smoothed hood. that might be easier said than done! Professionally built by Valley Head Service of Northridge. California. and professionally installed by Ace Automotive of Redding. California. this impressive small block twists 560 dyno-proven horsepower into 504 lb. /ft. of pavement-scorching torque. At the top of the internally balanced mill. a shotgun-style air cleaner feeds Barry Grant 750 carburetors. which are fitted with braided hoses. stainless fluid lines and a small XRP pressure gauge. Below those carburetors. a Weiand 6-71 blower funnels a perfect air/fuel mixture into CNC-ed heads. which hide Crane lifters and Eagle roller rockers under custom. Bel Air-themed valve covers. When the juice hits the cylinders. a Scat 4040 crank and Eagle connecting rods combine with an Eagle 611 cam and JE pistons to create consistent 8. 25 to 1 compression. Fires are sparked by an MSD Pro-Billet distributor. which jolts loomed MSD Super Conductor plug wires. Cooling for that fire is provided by a shrouded Griffin radiator. which fronts a big electric puller fan and polished serpentine components. And the car's clean engine compartment is exceptionally well done. with items like modern air conditioning. jet-coated headers and a body-matched brake booster fitting perfectly inside a custom frame that was constructed by Santa Clarita's JT Metal Works. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSIONNot surprisingly. the bottom of this show worthy Chevy continues the theme of pairing proven hardware with enhanced technology. Behind the awesome small block. a kitted Turbo-Hydramatic 400. which was built by Hi Tech Transmission of Central Point. Oregon. makes good use of Corvette servos and Kevlar clutches. That proven 3-speed sends power to a narrowed Torino 9-inch. which spins Moser axles and 3. 73 gears. Turns come courtesy of modern power steering. Speed is scrubbed by power-assisted disc brakes. A 3-inch. powder-coated exhaust system funnels spent gases through powder-coated Flowmaster mufflers. The car's Satin Black frame and undercoated floorpan complement a custom suspension that's been mini-tubbed. fitted with an F2 Camaro front clip. stiffened with tubular control arms. lowered with 2-inch drop spindles and augmented with independently controlled air ride. All that reliable hardware rolls on a sweet set of Intro Twisted Vista IIs. which spin 255/35ZR20 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As in front of 295/40ZR20 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As. And fully sorted details. like a 16-gallon stainless fuel tank. ensure this classic bowtie is capable of years of carefree cruising. INTERIORLike most ground-up builds. this 210 features a completely reworked interior. Installed by Jerry Noone's Custom Auto Trim in Lancaster. California. that cockpit features a custom dash. custom door panels. a custom headliner. custom consoles. a custom package tray and custom seats. Naturally those seats. anchored to German square-weave carpet. are covered in supple ultraleather hides. A matched Intro steering wheel spins around a tilting Ididit column. Dakota Digital gauges. billet foot pedals and a massive Auto Meter tachometer. The aforementioned console flows through a 7-inch LCD monitor. a Myron & Davis DVD player. an Alpine CD player and a B&M Pro Stick shifter. Four power windows ride behind trick. power wind wings. And a custom-upholstered trunk stows the car's battery and air ride components behind two Crossfire amplifiers.
