Description of 1948 Chevrolet Other Pickups

Re-listed due to non payment. 1948 Chev Prostreet pickup project for sale. I say project lightly as it is near completion. Health reasons has forced the sale. The truck has a C2 Camaro front clip with new complete disc brakes. Engine is a 383 BB, balanced, blueprinted, heads milled and dynoed at 400 hp with the long tube headers. Cooling is provided by an aluminum rad with twin electric fans. Transmission is a freshened 727 Torqueflite with custom shifter. Rear frame section is 2x3 tubing that houses a massive 4 link with adjustable coil overs, narrowed Ford 9" with 3.73 gears and new drum brakes. 15" wide Pro Stars with new rubber. Box is tubbed, narrowed 6" and rear fenders widened 3" per side. New wood in the bed with chrome pop up gas flap and aluminum fuel cell. Tailgate is shaved and the roll pan houses 66 tail lights. Aluminum wing is mounted on the bed rails. Cab has a 3rd brake light installed, been channeled and doors are shaved, suicide and remote with double latch bear claws. Interior is all custom made sheet metal and flows through the doors into the dash. A new 21 circuit wiring harness is installed; new gauges; power windows; killer stereo; custom headliner; chrome tilt column; chrome boomerang wheel and 4 point harnesses finish off the one of a kind interior. Hood has been mildly decked and the front fenders widened 2". Numerous new parts throughout the truck. Bodywork could be blocked out further and painted...but why...looks sick just the way it is ! This was my labour of love and have no idea the hours involved...doesn't really matter does it...lol. Unfortunately, health reasons has forced me to exit my passion for building one off customs. ALL transportation pick-up, brokerage fees and arrangements are the BUYERS responsibility. Reserve price barely covers the material costs so please bid freely. Truck is in Canada so USA buyers benefit by .31 per dollar. The fine people allowed me to list in NY for the US market. If you are interested in a painted version of this truck, I will negotiate with the buyer after the auction is over to have it painted at an extra cost. Dash pad and right door panel are being installed. Hard brake lines, e-brake cable, driveshaft, windshield glass, a coil and water pump pulley are required for completion. This is one hell of a deal that a non payment missed on. PLEASE...know you are responsible for transport and brokerage fees and check your state laws on vehicle modifications? Truck is in Wakefield, Quebec but I will transport to Prescott, Ontario (across the river from Ogdensberg, NY) for pick up. GOOD LUCK BIDDING !
